How does he project? he can LAY THE WOOD.

ya he is a beast, I thought he would be a 1st rounder at the beginning of the year, he has fallen a little though. I can see him going mid 2nd to early 3rd though

He reminds me some of Kevin Burnett. Maybe a little stronger, and a little slower than Burnett, but always around the ball. I love how he plays wide open and tackles very well.

I don't think there's anything about him that says "elite", but I think he can be a solid NFL LB. He could probably move to the outside too with his speed. I'd guess around 2nd rounder right now. He is a Jr, doubt he comes out.

I'll feel bad if he comes out. He could really improve by next year.

He would be well served to come back and really work on his coverage skills cause that is the area of his game that's lacking.

It really comes down to the postseason. The nature of the LB position makes it hard to really project at times, as often times, a player can be a quality talent but drop if they lack elite physical tools. My guess is if Mayo came out, he'd be in that 3rd-5th range.

he should come back and be one of the top 5 LBs in the 09 draft.
