  • Updated 2011 Prospects Info

2011 prospect Adrian Clayborn recently checked in at 295 lbs.

Christian Ballard recently measured in at 6'5 311.

I think both can be first rounders next year.

    Anyone agree?

I would agree on Clayborn who should trim that weight down a bit. He's quick off the snap and overpowers defenders regularly at Defensive End. If he keeps his weight up between 290-295, you may be talking about being a possibility at 3-4 Defensive End, or even rotating from end to tackle in a 4-3 on passing downs. My #20 rated prospect going into next year with interesting ability and a shot to go later on in the first round.

Ballard to me seemed like their most impressive lineman in games last year. Funny considering his inexperience being a converted TE. He seemed to really pick up DT quickly. That's really high praise too considering I thought Clayborn was a beast as well last year. I think if Clayborn can build off of last season he might see Top 5-10 consideration. He's just a great overall player.

        Whoa, Ballard at 311?

That guy is going to be a beast in the pros...Bet he goes higher than Allen Bailey AND Cameron Heyward next year.

really, the combine is about to begin and you're making a thread about 2011 Iowa prospects?

In other news, Ricky Stanzi is a preseason all-american who just passed Jake Locker and Ryan Mallett atop Scott Wright and Mel Kiper's big board...

Iowa's D will be sweet next year with Clayborn, Ballard and Sash. Maybe #2 in the country.

Update on a few prospects is all.

I find the Ballard information very intriguing. Thought the board might as well.

Stanzi could be an All-American. He is 17-3 as a starter. I would wager that's top 5 out of all returning quarterbacks this year on top 25 teams.

6'5 311lbs eh? So when the combine comes, he's actually going to be 6'3 1/2 and 296lbs

Yeah man. The waterboy was 2nd team all american as a redshirt sophomore and pours 30 cups of water in 49 seconds. He should be an early 3rd round when he comes out.
