  • Mario Addison, DE / OLB, Troy

He seems like he played really well this year. From what i've heard, he's got near elite physical tools, and can really get after a QB. I know he only has really one year of production put up, but why hasn't his name been mentioned more? I know there's a few troy fans here, so i was hoping i could get a breakdown on this guy. He seems like he could turn into a great pass rusher if given the chance.

He had a decent year, stats-wise, but he played most of the season wearing a club. He broke a hand against UAB...He played a bit the previous season, but was behind Sheffield and Lang. This past season was injury-marred for the TROY defense, but Addison is a hustle guy...good technique...team player. He deserves a look.

The next big thing to come out of TROY will be Jonathan Massaquoi.

"I like it when people underestimate us," Addison said. "I feel real confident in the guys we have back there. The guys we lost are no better than the guys we have now. The guys we have now are more sound. We're a faster defense, we just have to get a little more physical. I know we'll get the job done and we're going to prove we can get the job done."

For sure to the bottom part. I watched their Bowl game, and i was just in awe of Massaquoi's ability. He pressured the QB on just about every snap that they passed the ball.

Addison seems like a perfect pass rush specialist. Great hustle, with quite a few moves and has good measurables. Where do you think he'll go?

Not too sure right now, but the beat writer will post what scouts are around during pro day...

If he can manage to post a 40 in the 4.5-4.59 range while mantaining that weight he surly has a shot to go mid-round to a team that will use him as that hybrid DE/OLB specialist. On the flip, if he gets leaner and drops some weight he seems poised to be a special teams dominator at the next level.
