I think he is around 4.3 fast. He is very fast, but not 4.2. Allen Patrick is the guy for sure next year and a day one pick for next years draft. If Murray chose Oklahoma over SC for concerns of PT, he made the right choice of the 2. However, he also faces a crowded backfield at OU. They have 3 youngsters that they brought in all in the same class to play tailback. An athlete named Mossis Madu, a guy who beasted out last year as a true freshy named Carlos Brown (I think that's his name), and Murray. Brown looked very good in the times I saw him last year and could challenge Murray severely in 2008 for the starting spot. And could win out. Murray is good, and I love this prospect, but he faces a very tough road ahead, that's for sure!
he is fast but you gotta remember how speed translates... how many "4.4" guys are there comming out of highschool each year.
And how many true 4.4 guys are there at the combine. It doesn't add up, everyone is a 4.4 or 4.5 guy comming out of highschool but many of these guys end up being a 4.5 to 4.7 guy at the combine.
Murray can ball though, I was actaully quite surprised he went to OU last year rather than USC.
He had 107 yards on 4 carries and 1 td during the red and white scrimmage. He is going to be a stud. He will be starting probably next year, if not this year. OU has a crowded backfield though with Patrick, Gutierrez, Brown, Madu, and Murray all fighting for the starting spot. Something off topic which is rediculous, Guti is like 5'5 or 5'6 and benches around 400
I had to turn the channel when Murray turned the corner and nobody could touch him. He looked extremely fast. Plus, OU's D seems to have some athletes and that is all the more impressive. I think he will be around or over 10 yards per touch this year on offense.
