  • Halfway Mark Voting Mock

I think most of us have done this. Pretty much we're all gonna vote on the player each team should get. No trading just picks. Just 3 rounds. There will be a 30 min time limit for each pick (not starting yet though)
I think it'll be nice to compare the halfway mark voting mock with another one down the line.

Is that order SOS consistant? I don't believe that it is. Might want to take who is leading to make the playoffs into consideration too.

Nobody cares about your stupid fantasy team.

I don't care about the order... So let's get started!!!!!!!!!

For Miami, my vote goes to...

Jake Long: My reasoning is that I want to piss Dolphins fans off.

Edit: Nevermind, my pick is Dorsey

Glad to see this mock is being taken seriously. Glenn Dorsey has to be the pick. We gave up another 130 yards rushing this week to Brandon Jacobs. Run D is the biggest weakness in Miami and Dorsey is the best D player in the draft.

Fine, I'll edit it and give you guys Dorsey. I still think Jake Long would help you guys, but Dorsey is more of a need.

Jake Long would help us no doubt. He would help all 32 NFL teams but when have you ever seen a RT drafted number 1 overall? The pick for Miami would eventually come down to Dorsey, McFadden for simply being the best player in the draft or a QB (Ryan, Brohm) if Beck plays horribly for the rest of the season. Dorsey is by far the bigger need and even if Beck plays bad, it's hard to see a team with so many needs wasting a high pick on a QB in back to back seasons. Dorsey is just the logical choice.

A time limit makes no sense on message boards as no single person will be on here to keep track of the time limit and make sure this keeps going. The way to do it is to make it so that the player must be named 5 times to win the vote. For instantance. Right now there is two votes for Dorsey and one for McFadden. 3 more votes makes Dorsey the pick and 4 more votes makes McFadden the pick. Makes it easier for everyone to keep track of and usually makes the voting more effecient instead of counting time and trying to figure out which team is supposed to be picking.

My pick is for Dorsey though I'm reluctant to do that being that Cam Cameron is a offensive coach. We all saw what happened with Ginn.....

Thanks to Bantx for the cool sig.

Miami would probably take Dorsey because of their atrocious run defense. the only issue is how does he fit in their hybrid defense when they go 3-4?

If Jake Long is the consensus #1 lineman, I would think the Rams would have to go that route. Pace is nearing the end, and I'm not exactly sold on Alex Barron as a legit LT. Long may not be a great LT either, but O-line is a serious need.

Maybe Clady or one of the other cats jumps Long for the top of the OT crop. Either way, I'd vote for a tackle here.

                        Chris Long is another possibility.

How does what happened with Ginn even remotely relate to the Dorsey pick?

Last year going into the draft we had the number 4 overall defense in the NFL. Offense was our weak point. This year we have one of the bottom 5 defenses in the NFL and our offense has been playing better.

Last year we passed on an offensive player (Quinn) to get another offensive player (Ginn). How is that the same as passing on Dorsey to get Long?

Almost every player rumored to Miami last year was on offense. Quinn, Peterson, Ginn, Brown. Okoye was really the only defensive player that was rumored. This year it's all defense that has been talked about so far. Campbell, Phillips, Dorsey, Chris Long. Jake Long has really been the only offensive player talked about.

Cam Cameron being an offensive coach means nothing. He has no say in the final decisions. Randy Mueller is the guy that makes the picks.

two completely different situations between this year and last year. The Dolphins draft will be heavy on defense this year.

Ok so Dorsey is set to go to the Dolphins at number 1.

I'll take Jake Long to the Rams to replace Pace at LT.
