  • 2 part player value question

Part 1: In the context of draft pick for player what type of value do you think Laron Landry would illicit?

Part 2: Jason Cambell is a RFA this year... if the skins put a 3rd round tender on him do you think someone would bite?

Depends. What is his contract situation like over the next few years?

Yes. If I were GM of a team that needed a QB I would seriously consider that, especially for the Vikings who would be giving up a late 3rd.

Landry has been so bad this year, he is falling rapidly into that Michael Huff type scenario where his "potential" is starting to get trumped by consistently bad play, he looks more lost than he did in his first game right now.

I'm actually a fan of Campbell, I think he could actually do something with a little faith put in him and an OL that didn't think turnstiling defenders was good pass protection. That line may be the worst in football right now, completely kills any chance of throwing the ball deep which lets defenses cheat up. I wouldn't be opposed at all if the Vikes gave a 3rd for him. Hell if McCoy isn't there at our 2nd I wouldn't mind giving it up either(I'm not a huge McCoy fan but I think he is a great fit in our system).

Props to BK on the sig!

as a vikings fan, i would give up a third rounder for campbell if favre doesnt come back. i originially thought that we didnt have many holes on our roster so giving up a pick wouldnt be that big of a deal, but the way our secondary and o-line has played the last two weeks, i am rethinking that a little bit. but a third rounder for a serviceable quarterback who is a million times better than t-var, sage, gus ferrotte, brad johnson, or any other guys we have had in years past.

A guys value is as high as a team is willing to pay, which is determined by supply and demand, teams like Carolina, Minnesota, Oakland, whoever else you want to throw in the mix who may be a QB away from being in the mix would obviously like the opportunity, a team like Oakland can't afford to trade more picks, neither can Carolina thanks to them trading three already, Minnesota with no major holes on the roster, could.

3rd round pick tender for Campbell? It wont work that way.

He was former 1st round pick who just made almost 3M this season. Lowest tender will be the original pick with 110 percent of last year's cap as a result, there will be 2nd round compensation for Redskins if any team willingly gives up 3.5M and 2nd round pick for just Campbell.

this is true. theres no way the skins could get a 3rd round tender on campbell but imo it would be much more likely that the skins either keep campbell for a year as a rfa or attempt to trade him for potentially a mid to late 3rd round pick with some sort of 3-4 year contract terms worked out for the new team.

that is doable. Campbell needs to accept backup role with shot for starting role type of contract. Redskins can get 3rd round for that in no time. Good Luck, Redskins.

Part 1: This is the worst time to try to shop Landry right now his stock is near its lowest I'd say a very late 3rd to 4th round pick although the S class this year is very top heavy (Mays Berry Allen and maybe a another Jr.) So I couldn't see Landry being worth more than any of these guys (which should be gone around mid round 3.

Part 2: If the rumors are true and Mike Shanahan is the Skin's new head coach I could see Campbell staying one more season and the Skins taking Snead in next years draft.

If I'm a GM, I wouldn't touch either of them. Keep your garbage to yourself plz.

I would love to have Campbell in a Vikings jersey.

I'd like to see Landry in bolts. even though we don't really have a spot for him. I just want him to do well. Why is he failing? Makes no sense. Probably my 2nd favorite defensive prospect ever.
