For our size, I'm pleased with Louisiana coming in 6th.

CA was no surprise as this is the most populous state.

You're going to have a disproportionate no. of players from states with high rural %age of their area compared to the big population centers, like Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, Oregon, Oklahoma, Utah, etc. b/c that;'s where where FB players come from, where they do hard physical work 7 days a wk. A lot of very good linemen came from ranch & farm environments,

I'll mention it here : Big kudos to the California Juco system, all those colleges producing instant talent. Gotta love that additional recruiting outlet, JC transfers have saved how many HCs form geting fired in former Div. 1? Same with the BCS now.

When you consider how many African Americans play in the NFL compared to other elasticities and how many more African Americans live in Louisiana it's not too surprising places with a higher concentration of African Americans have more players in the league despite having lower populations.

What do the vikings and marijuana have in common? Every time you put them in a bowl
                they get smoked.

Louisiana is an overwhelming winner per capita if I remember correctly.

That's what I was thinking. CA, TX, and FL are high only because of their populations.

Jersey is a football state. The problem for us is keeping that talent in Jersey. Almost all of our top high school talent goes out of state when going to college.

If Rutgers could recruit 80% of our in state talent, we'd have a dominant program.

7 or 8 1st round picks in 09 were Jersey guys.
