  • BEAR WEEK! (week 5 discussion)

it's wednesday. time to start thinking about the weekend :)

    my thoughts:

Bear's offense should not pose too much of a problem and the defense is banged up. to me, this game, more than any game so far comes down to Brett Favre. If he plays smart and cautious, the Packers should win. If he makes dumb decisions, the Bear's D will make us pay. IMO, the most important thing to do is be patient on offense. the worst thing we could do is give the Bears a short field.

If the Packers win, it's a huge edge on the division and almost closes the book on the Bears.

If the Packers lose, the Bears are right back in it and may have the momentum to get back on track and make a run.

As long as we keep Benson down and force the Bears into passing situations, I like our chances. As far as the offense goes Brett is making great decisions and with a banged up defense that can only help him more.

to be honest i was hoping favre would break the record on the bears lol

if the d-line wins the battle we will win the game

Just stop their run game. Griese won't be able to beat us with his arm.

Patience is the key to the game. I don't think we will get many scoring opportunites, so when we do we have to convert.

Oh yeah, we need to work on ST coverage a whole lot this week so we are prepared.

Huge game, the difference between a win and a loss is so big that we have to win this game almost. Or we really should want to if we want to be the frontrunner in the NFC North.

I thought our corners struggled a bit in that viking game, lots of pass interferance calls/ non-calls. Woodson had 2 probably should have been 3 and I think harris had 1. It kind of had me scratching my head. I mean for a pair of pretty good corners, why did they struggle against that poor wide receiver group of the vikings.

Game plan.... Don't give up a 100 yard TD to Berrian or Bradly. The Pack did in both games last year.

Also, I think packers' first play from scrimmage should be a Brett Favre Sputnik rocket right at Lovie Smith's alien head. Go back to your roll as the backup alien in independence day two, chump.

What do the vikings and marijuana have in common? Every time you put them in a bowl
              they get smoked.

Kick the ball out of bounds on kickoffs and punts, imo. I dun care if they get it at the 40, kick it out of bounds.

I think a squib will do, but you definately have a point. We can't let Hester make plays.

If Brett Favre continues to avoid throwing picks and our defense plays the way we can I think this will be an easy victory.

I'll be going to the game this week, so I'm obviously excited. What is the injury report for the Bears?

                      Sig thanks to mockalicious

A win here sews up the division about 5 weeks earlier than I had figured. It will finish off the farce that was the Bears last year. However a screw up and loss changes everything. All the Pack needs to do is hang onto the ball on offense and not let the 'strip the ball' tactic work for the Bears. Hang on to the ball and expect 3+ yards more per offensive play. They have no interest in tackling as that is not their game. It worked last year but eventually the rest of the league got enough film and has made the approrpriate counters.

                          On defense...just show up.
