  • Ted Ginn Jr. visited the Dolphins today.

I just saw on the ticker for the NFL Network that OSU WR Ted Ginn Jr. visited the Dolphins today. Does anyone know the extent of the visit and what happened?

Visits aren't always a good thing.

Keep in mind most scouts or GMs rather will want to scout player with a visit if they're not sure about their capabilities.

Newlines always get excited when you hear such and such a player visited with some team, it means that team isn't sure about the guy. That's all. If they're super high on a guy they'll know all they need to and have him locked on their draft board.

He also visited the Rams this week. Hopefully, the Dolphins reach for him at #9, so the Rams aren't tempted to take him at 13.
                My teams:
                St. Louis Rams
                Michigan Wolverines
                Southern Miss Golden Eagles

visits are used on guys that are either top 5 or so picks and then guys in the first round that a team's scouts, coaches, and executives need to talk to more (to see if they're going to be able to adjust to the pro game, if they have character concerns, etc). the rest of the visits are used on guys that didn't go to the combine and/or all-star games that could be drafted late or as free agent pickups...

if you notice guys that grade out in the middle rounds (late second to early fifth) haven't taken many visits unless there are character concerns on them.

i know josh gattis hasn't taken a visit yet, but his safety mate at wake patrick ghee has taken four of five, ghee is a long shot to even be drafted.

I think the Dolphins want him, but if they take him I'm starting to think they'll trade down with someone like Pittsburgh to get him.

With Linehan sniffing around Ginn at #13 they would be making a mistake to trade down. If they do trade down with Pitt. Dwayne Bowe is very possible though at #15. Just cant imagine the Phins passing on a viable OT option at number 9. Especially when talents such as Sidney Rice, Jason Hill, Anthony Gonzalez, and Dwayne Jarrett can all be had in the second round.

I was simply asking what happened on HIS visit. I know the others have visited as well. Calm down and thanks for the bonehead post. Think before you post sometimes.

I didn't say it was a big deal... I was just asking if anyone knew what went down during the visit. What is wrong with you. Calm down buddy.

I don't think anyone got the reason for this post. I wasn't trying to shove it in anyone's face that he visited us, I just wanted to know if anyone had insight on what happened during the visit.

I also agree with BigBlueCrew, if we are targeting him it would be a mistake trading down because Linehan might snatch him up at 13.
