  • Santonio Holmes faces a civil lawsuit for assault and battery, according to court documents.

According to the complaint, Holmes allegedly "put his hand" in Anshonoe Mills' face after she refused to leave the arm of a couch at a nightclub in Orlando earlier this month. Mills alleges that Holmes caused a laceration below her eyebrow and was blinded temporarily. She is seeking unspecified damages in the excess of $15,000. Although a civil matter certainly isn't as serious as a criminal charge, Holmes has had some prior incidents and this will get commissioner Roger Goodell's attention. It's the last thing the Steelers need with Ben Roethlisberger already in very hot water.

      • Wow, Holmes and Ben need to team up. Ben can sex them up, then Santonio can strong arm them to keep them quiet. /sarcasm with a slight hint of disappointment and anger

        • Positive I see out of this is that he didn't hit her. Just hand washed her and threw a drink at her. Dick move, yes. But Sapp got accused of similar accusations recently and was found innocent. Too bad he lost his job in the process.

          • What has gotten into the Steelers? Typically we're the quiet team in the offseason and the past two offseasons we have been one of the most talked about teams. It's pretty frustrating.

            • Also, I don't know if anyone has posted it yet but, Ben will not be reporting to offseason conditioning. The Rooneys and Ben reached an agreement for him not to go saying that it will be a distraction. IMO I want him to go, whenever he comes back it will be a big deal and might as well and get it out of the way now rather than later.

i don't think we need to really worry about santonio on the field quite yet and ward didn't really show much decline last year. i don't think WR is a need in the top 3 rounds by any means. in a later round, possibly. but not 1st-3rd.

Had the 18th pick, about to take Iupati when Eagles offered trade, traded down to #24 and swapped our third for their second.

Iupati still available at #24, took him there. In his analysis, MelKiper had him as the second best pick of the draft so far.

                        So far:

1.18 - OG Mike Iupati, Idaho
                        2.52 -
                        2.55 -
                        4.116 -
                        5.151 -
                        5.164 -
                        5.166 -

Also have the chance to trade our 2nd and 4th for an early-mid third and two early-mid 4ths. Still pondering whether to do it or not.

Anyway, here's the list of players left (out of Scott's Top 100):

                          • No WR in the draft this year.

We're reserving that selection for Jonathan Baldwin in 2011.

I'd say Allen or Chad Jones. Goose, you said you traded a 3rd for a 2nd too? If you have another second, I would say either Cam Thomas, Amairi Spievey, or Sean Lee as well.
