  • What's YOUR Titans' Depth Chart?

Ok, now that training camp has started, there's more to discuss. But! A little team forum activity ain't gonna hurt nuttin'! So, post the Titans that you want starting, not who you think will be starting, and who you want cut or ridin' ole hickory. We'll discuss rosters, debate, and hopefully have some fun. Only two rules: Only current players on the team can be listed (ie. No listing Simeon Rice as our RE, unless we actually sign him) and you can post a new depth chart once a week. So lets have some fun and cure some boredom!

Before I post my depth chart, I want to say how good Antwan Odom looked Tuesday at camp. I went with a friend to the morning and afternoon sessions Tuesday and we both thought that Odom really looked good. His pass-rush moves were really quick and he looked explosive coming around the corner in D-line drills. He also translated that into the 11 on 11 drills. I still hope we get Simeon Rice b/c we have the cap room, but I'm not as concerned anymore. Even if we sign Rice, Odom may beat him out for the starting job if he stays healthy.

With that said, here is my depth chart:

      Offense:

QB: Vince Young, Kerry Collins, Tim Rattay
RB: LenDale White, Chris Brown, Chris Henry
      TE: Bo Scaife, (see below)
      WR: Eric Moulds, Roydell Williams
WR: Brandon Jones, Paul Williams, Joel Filani
      Slot: Courtney Roby, Chris Davis
      LT: Michael Roos, Seth Wand
      LG: Jacob Bell, Daniel Loper
      C: Kevin Mawae, Eugene Amano
      RG: Benji Olson, Leroy Harris
      RT: David Stewart,
      (FB: Ahmard Hall, Casey Cramer)
(TE on passing downs: Ben Troupe)
(TE w/ Scaife on running downs: Ben Hartsock)

      Defense:

RDE: Kyle Vanden Bosch, Travis Laboy
      RDT: Albert Haynesworth, Antonio Johnson
      LDT: Tony Brown, Randy Starks
LDE: Antwan Odom, Jacob Ford (it'll be a FA pickup)
      WLB: Keith Bulluck, Gilbert Gardner
      MLB: Stephen Tulloch, Ryan Fowler
SLB: David Thornton, Levar Woods, Ken Amato
      RCB: Nick Harper, Kelly Herndon
      LCB: Michael Griffin,
FS: Calvin Lowry, Vincent Fuller, Lamont Thompson
      SS: Chris Hope, Donnie Nickey
      (Nickel back: Cortland Finnegan)
      (Dime back: Reynaldo Hill)

      K: Rob Bironas
      P: Craig Hentrich
      KR: Chris Henry
      PR: Cortland Finnegan

      Notable cuts (** practice squad):

      Bryan Scott
      Andre Woolfolk
      Michael Waddell
      Eric King
      Jesse Mahelona**
      Justin Gage
      Terna Nande**
      Rien Long
      Jamie Petrowski

"A lot of people say this and say that about us, but thatís a good thing. We want to keep it low, and we donít want all the hype going with the Tennessee Titans. We want to just keep it low. Yíall just keep talking about us, talking bad about us, so we can just continue to go out there each week and show the whole world what type of football team we are." -- Vince Young

T-minus 1 year until the beginning of the Titans Dynasty!

        NB: Cortland Finnegan, Vince Fuller
        FS: Calvin Lowry, Vince Fuller
        SS: Chris Hope, Bryan Scott

        K: Rob Bironas

        KR: Courtney Roby/Chris Henry
        PR: Chris Davis/Cortland Finnegan
        LS: Ken Amato (LB)

We need another body at DE. I don't have any faith that LaBoy or Odom will hold up for a full season. Should also watch out for this Ealy kid. He could be the surprise guy to make the final roster spot.

          [/QUOTE]

This is early, so things could change quite a bit with injuries, signings, and performances up until the final cut.

I wonder about leaving 8 o-line to give a spot elsewhere, like maybe WR, LB, TE/FB, or DB. Some of these guys can play more than one spot, like Fuller, so that can change the final #'s.

I have a feeling LT stays on the roster, but it's hard to say who I'd pick between him and Nickey (Scott seems like a scrub cast off, but that may be on par with the other 2). Nickey is supposed to be a ST's leader, but I usually don't see him being just a monster on ST's. Hopefully the coaches see more. I don't remember much of LT on ST's.

Not sure how Fowler will look, but they paid him a decent chunk of change. Sometimes that all but guarantees a starter, but I thought Tulloch was for sure an upgrade when he got his shots last year. Nande better learn ST's.

Just from the early signs, I wonder if Filani can even beat Ealy if they both get good shots at the roster.

I also think Amano should get a chance to show what he can do in extended work instead of just spot duty. He's played well every time he's been on the field. Doesn't seem to be the most nimble guy on his feet though, then again neither is Olson - that's one reason I like Bell. He gives us a nice mix in styles.

I want to see Amano play more too. He may be a little better than Olsen now. I think he's a better athlete than Olsen, and better at the point of attack than Bell. Just another one of those deals where we wonder if the guy on the bench is better than a starter.

like i said earlier, in two years this will be a top 5 o-line in the league mark it down.

                LT- Roos
                LG- Bell
                C- Harris
                RG- Amano
                RT- Stewart

I agree, are O-Line is going to be a force for many years to come, If we don't get Roos and Stewart to a long term deal, i'm going to be pissed.

Harris was solid when I got a chance to single him out. Maybe 1st NFL game jitters on those snaps.
