Of course, I don't think youve seen BSG which makes all of this viewing mute as youre choosing to not watch the best show ever !
That show is completely undone by the fact that they really obviously had no ******* plan for the end. They literally wrote themselves into a corner. Why is Starbuck back from the dead? Who knows she just vanishes. Why do they hear Bob Dylan even though the finale spells out that the whole show takes place long before Dylan is born? Who knows, here's a montage about how dangerous technology is, zomg original.
The show gets a lot of points for creating an atmosphere and pulpy characters but it was all leading to nothing, enormous bellyflop.
The Wire isn't really a crime/cop drama. It's a show about Baltimore.
Thats the only reason ccb even likes it, if it took place in East St Louis he wouldnt care :)
But anyways, its a show about the drama of Baltimore's crime & cops. I guess if you want to label it something else you can go for it. Its not a rinse & repeat formula show like the Law & Order/CSI's of the world, but its still a cop/crime drama.
Who cares if it's about crime/cop? That shouldn't be a detractor when there's amazing writing and acting involved, and with The Wire (and The Shield) that holds true.
Because im bored of that ish. Half of the stuff on TV is that genre. Cop dramas are so effing popular right now that its a huge chunk of every networks programming, be it new episodes or reruns.
I mean every possible angle you can think of to base a crime/cop show around, they have. There are crime scene specialists, bone specialists, mortuary specialists, splatter specialists, psychics, dead whisperers, mathematicians/number specialists, officers under cover, officers with a.. author. Typically when one network finds a new angle for a cop show, at least one other network will copy that idea for a new show to compete. Or they'll spin the show off with another cast & city (multiple times). All to find out who dun it and why.
