  • Rip DVD for iPod?

    Hey,

I bit the bullet and bought a new 80GB iPod since my old one died on me.

Can anyone recommend a program that will rip DVD's so I can put them on the iPod?

            Oh.

            Well... uhm...

            I can't think of a witty retort. :/

Anyway, my friend uses one, and I can ask him next time I see him.

Yea, but I have like 70 gigs worth of free space so I figure I might as well use some of it. Gotta get Anchorman and Old School on there! :)

As for getting the DVDs onto your PC I'd say DVDshrink along with Ripit4me, and FixitVTS. Ripit4Me essentially uses DVDshrink and FixitVTS together to rip pretty much any DVD out there, and it seems that they're updated pretty frequently to stay on top of any new releases that you might buy.

As for encoding them in whatever format iPod uses. dunno.

Someone once told me that he rented a movie from a grocery store and ripped it.

Do you have a Mac or PC?

For Macs, download the program Instant Handbrake.
                            Get it here: http://handbrake.m0k.org/

For a free Windoze program, use this one:
