Looks like like I'm not an objective person. Sucks for me.

              that's BS right there.

if ya want to make a list of movies that were critically and financially successful, go for it. kinda takes the fun out of making our own lists based on our own tastes though. i mean, hell, if we wanted a list of the most acclaimed movies of the decade, we could just copy and paste from any number of film sites. so, yeah, in this case, my personal opinion DOES matter more than the accolades. because i thought LoTR ******* sucked.

LoTR was not my kind of movie. I can see how people liked it, but to say everyone has to like it is ********

I found the LOTR movies to be incredibly boring and uninteresting. I never saw the big hype with them.

A small explanation first because a few people are going to look at this list and be like "WTF?" To begin with, obviously my age and what not is going to change what my list looks like compared to yours. Second, if it's not a) action/adventure, b)sci-fi, c)whatever my wife drags me to it's probably not even on my radar. Third, there are 5 films that received an asterisk. I felt that I had to put a film from those particular series there not just because of the films as independent works, but perhaps because of the cultural/pop-icon impact they have had on the decade as a series. I decided to exclude the Indiana Jones series because IMO movies 2 and 4 (which I have refused to see, but I'll probably end up breaking down eventually) were terrible.

Had to show some love to the cartoons at the bottom. I enjoyed them more than some other movies that could have gone there. I must say I forgot a lot of movies and realize now how many "good" movies I haven't seen.
