Coincidentally weird you mentioned it, it was the last LP I ever bought. That Rooster thing of theirs rolls thru your head for wks. after the initial listen.

No, it's true AiC isn't the same without Layne. They were the last Grunge band to make it big, so maybe they will be the last to fold... note that Pearljam & Soundgarden are both still around more or less, they didn't lose any members sudden death did they? Maybe it's true, Cobain's suicide killed Grunge forever, what do you think? I do think it was a combo of heroin & Courtney Love that killed him, anybody married to her might commit suicide.

    • When I was at Ft. Gordon, that CD had just come out a few months ago. We were marching to PT one day and one of the Drill Sergeants was calling cadence. Part of the cadence went "got my pills against mosquito death". With out warning my friend Sean Streetbeck (from West Virginia) blurts out "MY BUDDIES BREATHIN' HIS DYIN' BREAAAATH". Needless to say we did a ****-load of push-ups for that, but it was worth it.

      • Great, thanks a lot guys, now I'm waxing nostalgic with AiC and STP songs going through my head.

More importantly, they were basically the only grunge band with metal elements, making me crave more and more and more. Sadly I'm left with a few albums and some other material.

AiC is the only band I hear on the radio and immediately blast the volume to deafening levels.

Can't mention Dirt without "Would?". That bass intro, plus I'm a sucker for the soft verse and loud chorus.

                • God damn you Kevin, putting me in a Lagwagon mood.

All week I've been listening to this, one of my top 10 or so favourite albums of all time:

I can seriously listen to it through and through. Tempted, Goodbye Girl, Cool for Cats, Mussels, Black Coffee, my favourite Annie Get Your Gun

The 80's and I would've gotten along quite well

I'm a Courtney apologist. They were totally in love. The heroin though, wasn't in love with Kurt. For some reason, I think that grunge commercially got re-injected in nu-metal which didn't sit well with me.
