It's not perfect but probably worth seeing just to ooh and ah at the best 3-D ever, it is really spectacular.

Not quite...connections to Native Americans and the treatment of the planet could still be made without the aliens looking like giant blue native americans. It just wouldnt be as blatant. It's all just too silly, imo. Worst aliens....ever.

Don't understand how you can get across the story of some 'civilized' race destroying the home of a native, or 'uncivilized', race without that race looking well, native. And plus like the guy said, at the least the long hair thing is integral to the story.

But must stick to thread topic:

Yeah, I'll probably end up seeing it in theatres sooner or later, perhaps even this weekend. At one time I was uber hyped for it. Not so much now.

Why do natives on another world have to replicate the natives we had on this planet? Surely there is something more original you could come up with. Apparently, bows are universal weapons across the universe. See Avatar and those little Ewok dudes. And long dread locked hair must be what all natives on other planets have. SO lame. Seems like a lazy and pretty unrealistic depiction. Just irks me. haha.

Unless of course, this has something to do with our planet and that one being liked in some way. Which would at least make sense but make for a pretty lame plot, imo.

I'm going to have to comment again after I see it.

Bows are easily the best way of stabbing things that are far away. It makes sense that all races that enjoy stabbing would eventually think them up.

Well, perhaps you could pose an entirely new weapon for them to use? Bow and arrows seem pretty logical to me. So what do you propose a not very advanced people to use to kill fast moving and far away targets? Are they going to jump from spears to guns(which would make them appear 'civilized', which would kill uncivilized vs. civilized)? Again, bows and arrows seems logical for the situation.

As for the long dread locked hair, like it's been said, it's integral to the story, here we go;

Had to scrape up something.

They created a whole new world, they could create whatever they would like to work. The long dread locked hair is one way they were creative and could have branched off from this with anything they would have liked.
