I was hammered last night when i read that, and i was clueless. Didn't think it was funny then, but i chuckled today, sober.

I can attest to this.

ImBrotherCain 11-03-2011 03:52 PM

Ok I don't know if any one has done this but Google Search "Do a Barrel Roll"

Your welcome.

ElectricEye 11-03-2011 04:07 PM

Yeah, I saw that earlier. I wonder when they put that in...and how long it's going to last haha. But it's pretty sweet.

what browser do you use? It works for me on chrome(which I normally use), but not on IE or firefox.

Jvig43 11-03-2011 04:53 PM

I'm using firefox. Damn.

Alright, just go onto youtube and search "google barrel roll" and there are videos that show what it does.

CashmoneyDrew 11-03-2011 05:00 PM

Works for me on firefox.

fenikz 11-03-2011 05:14 PM

works for me as well

BeerBaron 11-03-2011 05:42 PM

It does not work for me. I've tried typing it into the search bar in the top right and on google.com itself. As soon I start typing anything on Google, it starts searching and does nothing.

Giantsfan1080 11-03-2011 05:45 PM

It's nothing actually funny.

why does misspelled words bother other people so much? How does it affect someone other than the person that used those words? it didn't and shouldn't. If they're stupid and don't know the difference, that's their own fault.

lol. touche.

wogitalia 11-03-2011 08:00 PM

Mostly because it makes reading something difficult for me. If you put the wrong word it changes the sentence and I have to read it twice to make sense of it.

Also... that chart thing is missing the single worst one of them all... dominate/dominant. I still can't understand how anyone who isn't a mental midget can get that wrong, they sound different. That and lose/loose are the two worst ones because you really shouldn't substitute words that don't even sound the same, at least the others they sound the same and reading it out loud wouldn't solve the idiocy involved.

Idk its always been a pet peeve of mine....but then again I am an English major haha

Always said if became a teacher I wouldn't be so hard on spelling mistakes but would bring down an ungodly fire storm for grammar mistakes haha.

As an English teacher, it's my belief that spelling errors are the easiest to avoid. There is this magical thing called a "dictionary" which is available in just about every classroom.

Dictionary only works if you know that the word is misspelled in the first place. It also isn't particularly helpful if you have trouble spelling the beginning of the word.

fenikz 11-03-2011 11:04 PM

What I loved about school/spelling tests/vocab tests is how uninvolved the teachers were. I seriously went a semester not knowing what the **** epitome was, kept pronouncing it in my head as ep-i-tome but I knew the damn definition.

I do alot of those by mistake alot. Yes, the mistakes were intentional.

TheBoyWonder22 11-03-2011 11:32 PM

Was the definition by chance the definition?

fenikz 11-03-2011 11:34 PM

umm thats kinda the point of the test

was just one of those match the word with the definition thing

the ep-i-tome of easy

It was a play on words. You said you knew the definition of epitome but not the pronunciation. But epitome's definition is essentially "definition"
Ha I guess I reached.
