That's merely because the better musicians will end up playing the better instrument, leaving the bass to those who can't rock the guitar. It's not a matter of the bass being more difficult to master.

I don't agree. Yes, more people play the guitar on the whole so logically it will have a higher overall number of good players. But the different physical techniques required to play bass as a Victor Wooten-type level are more difficult to master IMO. Wider frets, thicker strings, inherent muddy tone of a lower-pitched instrument, different finger, slap, and tap techniques, etc. It just takes a lot more skill for an average music listener to be moved to the point of saying "Damn that guy is really wailing on that bass". Whereas every weekend cover band has a guy that can wank through their pentatonic scales.

Maybe what I'm saying is that it is easier to be PERCEIVED as an elite guitar player than it is to be seen as an elite bass player. I've played both instruments for over 10 years and in my experience it's just easier to stand out as a guitar player, even though I am probably better at bass.

The "Black Aliens" and the elephant/crocodile pic were poorly timed on my part. I saw them as (unknown to me at the time) the Sandusky BS came up on the radio, and I lolled. I got a strange look from my dad and uncle and had to show them these pictures. Too ******* funny...

I love Ancient Aliens. I don't take it seriously at all (mostly,) but it's awesome at the same time. And that guy is amazing. I hope he gets his own spin off show where he can just talk about zany **** for an hour.

Yeah, I once tried to come up with a budget for that and a drinking buddy who only goes to our establishment slightly more than I did at the time told me how much he spends there per month (not including other places)... The figure was NOT good and he's an auditor, so it's very accurate. I started playing video games more.
