When I was a kid, I worked as a restaurant as a dish washer during the summer. We would scrap left-over food into buckets that were given too a local pig farmer (for a small price of course). I remember one of the cooks that worked there also, being appalled at the fact that I would scrape bacon, ham and sausage into the buckets as well.
Cool story, I know. |

I learned about the Titanic again in 2nd grade, and 3rd grade, and pretty much every other grade. It's sort of a big thing in our culture. |
whoa, i'm a level 666er, no one can save me now @_@"
|
Yeah, i'm surprised these kids didn't learn about the Titanic in school. I guess they had to take it out, and make room for more new history, like Iraq, terrorist, Afgan, Oil.
Or kids just ********. |

The *** and Pearl Harbor ones are the only ones I laughed at.
Not that I got offended by any of em or anything...they are true mostly...just weren't too funny. |
They are all mostly true and I love it.
|
Must be an off day, I'm not amused for some reason.
|
They are indeed mostly true and hilarious.

I've asked a lot of people in the 50-80 year old demographics about the whole metric system thing, because it pisses me off and their generations dropped the ball by not getting behind Ford and Carter on the issue. Without fail, their responses amount to:

I don't understand why people have a problem with the national anthem before games or the pledge at school. You know it is OK to have pride in your country right? It isn't a "Murrica thing, people all over the world have pride in their country. I don't see the problem.
Think anyone in Canada bitches about hearing their anthem at hockey games. They sing Oh Canada at Bruins games and probably all games in the US and I think it is awesome. |
the pledge is indoctrination, not pride. and it's an utter joke anyways. i stopped saying it out loud in 2nd grade.

*shrug* I don't mind the "English" Standard. Everyone wants **** to be based off of 10's... Why? "It makes more sense." How does it make more sense? Because your OCD ass can't handle a system based on 3's and 4's rather than 10's? My argument FOR "English" Standard is that it makes more sense because time is based on 3's and 4's. I'm also in favor of using GMT as a standard for travel systems (it's so ******* ******** reading inter-time zone travel times and completely eliminating DST.
|
I don't mind the national anthem before sporting events. But saying the pledge of allegiance every.single.day. in school is ridiculous.
