I intend to vote for Kony

:)

Children apparently make pretty awesome soldiers apparently. The listen to orders and keep the other kids in line really well. One of my classes in college went over child soldiers and it just made me want a kid army in scaled down tank and planes and such.

What about Virginia?

Was anyone else that watched the invisible children vid bothered by the fact they kept saying they were gonna make Kony "famous" not to glorify his deeds but to bring awareness to his evil? Isn't that just called infamy? Jeebus.

However, if we are poking fun at the person who watched a 30 minute video and is now a subject matter expert on foreign relations despite being unable to identify local elected officials to include the sheriff and their district school board rep., please hand me the sharpest stick.

Requirement for sharing the Kony video:

Ah, that makes sense.

Not quite the dog from Futurama, but another nearly tear-jerking moment in a Matt Groening creation:

Indeed CJ. The wisdom in this one is strong.

There's nothing wrong with someone raising awareness about people suffering and dying. Also, that video has like 10 million views in a couple days, I'd say that sharing it or whatever certainly isn't hurting anything.

However, someone being pretentious and tries to lecture on it after just watching a video is annoying, and probably misinformed of a complicated situation.

scottyboy 03-08-2012 09:12 AM

i almost peed myself at the slowpoke one because people are acting all righteous about this and have no clue that Kony, and similar things, have been going on in Africa for decades.

95% probably don't even know what Apartheid is...

killxswitch 03-08-2012 09:29 AM

I don't think I understand why not knowing about atrocities in Africa previously means you are stupid for caring about them now that you do know. Yeah people who watch a video and then act like they know everything are dumb, but how many of these people are actually out there?

I was kind of close. I clicked on the Central African Republic. I knew it bordered Sudan, but I wasn't sure where.

Yeah. The same morons who post things like "this little boy has cancer and for every 'like', 10 cents will be donated to his cure!"

No it ******* won't.

killxswitch 03-08-2012 10:11 AM

I've long since defriended all my idiot non-friends on FB so my exposure to that stuff is pretty low.

Correct me if I am wrong, but don't they show where it is on the map in the video. In all honesty, they probably did that so that the average person would then know where Uganda is.

I was able to. At the same time, I'm huge on geography.

eaglesalltheway 03-08-2012 11:42 AM

I know where Uganda is, but I also know where the Gulf of Ob is (its real, I promise), so Uganda is kinda nothing to me...

I haven't watched the video, don't plan on it, honestly. **** like that has been going on for decades, and all this attention on ONE guy isn't necessary when there are plenty of other guys doing things in that region, hell, the whole continent, as bad as what Kony is doing.

Yup, me too. I can probably locate just about any country on a map with some of the small southern island states being the exceptions.

Brothgar 03-08-2012 12:04 PM

The easiest way to find Uganda is to find Rwanda and that other really tiny country ( -_- geography fail I know) and look directly above it.

Amazingly, 100% of the board can find Uganda on a map!
