IMO its a tight race, I heard ESPN say that if the Cavs can get 50 wins, meaning a finish of 7-3 (against only3 winning teams outta the last 10), Lebron could win it. Nash is looking great this year again, but his team is struggling of late, and his overall team isnt as good as last year without Staudmire. Kobe is good, but the Lakers arent great, worse than Suns, Heat, and Cavs. He is a ball hog to alot of people, not a great team leader, and has the WORSTE FG%, which says alot IMO. Wade is great but how much of it is because of Shaq? Wade continues to get better every week. Him and Lebron are the next Larry Bird and Magic Johnson Rivalry and it would only help the NBA if they would recognize this fact.

its no question- kobe.. where would the lakers be without him? nowhere. he is the most valuble player for his team because without him the lakers would be the worst team in teh league. not the case with the other 4-5

Without Lebron the cavs are horrible.

Without Wade the heat still win

Without Kobe, they are horrible

Without Nash they are still good, but not great.

With Kobe the Lakers still arent great, thats why Kobe isnt MVP.

Steve Nash is the glue that holds the Suns together. We know you like LeBron but try to get past your homerism for a second. LeBron will win MVP's, but not this year.

The suns were GREAT last year and alot of that was because of Nash, but alot was also Amare. Without Amare this year, they are a good team, but nowhere near last years.

Thats why I think it is ard for Nash to win again.

But hes most likely the favorite at this point.

When Lebron plays point gaurd, NOT SF, it isnt hard for him to get 8-10 assist a game eather though.

Nash is good for his team, but his team will still win games if he is hurt.

Dwayne Wade. He is no werse than 2nd in all but three of those stats (FT%, 3PT%, Mins, the three least important ones). Shaq has been hurt a bunch this year and if Wade isn't on this team, the Heat don't have a winnning record. The Heat are constantly down by 10+ at halftime and then Wade takes over and wins the game in the last few seconds. Other than Shaq no one on the team scores consistently. If you guys watched the Heat vs Cavs game, the last 5 minutes there were 3 or 4 guys scoring for the Cavs, and Wade was the only one for the Heat. Lebron is putting up some sick numbers, but for most of the season he falls apart at the end of games. Kobe's team can't win w/o him, but they can't win a whole lot with him either. Nash is pretty good, but I think Billups is better, and he won't win it because there is no MVP on the Pistons.

Also whenever Wade comes out the Heat get behind a sick amount, and when Alonzo Morning is on the court, the Heat are +9. Shaq is still the man, but you take Wade away from this team and they don't make the playoffs.

Case in point:
03-04 season, Suns without Nash: 29-53.
04-05 season, Suns with Nash: 62-20.

Nash has to win MVP again this season, Phoenix is 12.5 games over .500 and they've been without Amare Stoudemire all season. Over the past 2 seasons, Nash has played as well as any point guard I've ever seen.

It's either Kobe / LeBron / Dwayne as of right now for me. The way Dwayne and LeBron went at it yesterday was amazing, probably the best NBA game I've ever watched, EVER. Theres a new rivalry.. the new Magic and Bird.. LeBron and D-Wade.

On the other hand, Kobe takes the most difficult shots of anyone in the NBA due to being double and sometimes triple teamed.. his supporting cast consists of Chris Mihm and Kwame Brown.. Smush won't be good for another couple years.. it just ain't right to have Kobe on that team thats NBADL quality and he's still leading them to the playoffs.

Chauncey Billups and Steve Nash are in the same boat. If either is hurt, they still got ballers on the team.

You couldn't be more wrong. Phoenix had it's "ballers" - Shawn Marion, Amare Stoudemire, and Joe Johnson in 03-04, but with Stephon Marbury at the point they finished a lowly 29-53. Then, the next season Nash comes to Phoenix, with the same "ballers" and the team wins 33 more games. 33! Not a coincidence.

And without Chauncey Billups, Detroit is probably still a playoff team, but they DEFINITELY wouldn't have won an NBA championship.

Not only did the SUns have a different roster of players in those years, but were only discussing 2005 MVP's, not what players did durring other seasons.

Actually, you said the Suns would still win games without Nash, which is where that argument came from. The Suns didn't have much of a difference in rosters those 2 years, either. Amare was having his breakout season, and they still had Shawn Marion and Joe Johnson. The only big difference was Stephon Marbury, and not Steve Nash.

Nash is playing at an even higher level this season than last. He's single-handedly keeping the Suns at the top of the Pacific. He is the most valuable player to his team outside of Kobe, and the Suns are much better than the Lakers, which is why Nash wins.

Everyone acts like Cleveland has allways been good?

They are the best this year with Lebron, since the 1991-92 season. What other MVP candidate can say theve helped there team that much?

It's a really close race, but I'd go for Lebron James since he is the most important for his team and he has single handedly turned the Cleveland franchise around.

Dwayne Wade- he's my fav player

The Lakers and the Cavs almost have the same record and the Lakers are in the West. Plus LeBron has good big men in Z and Gooden but Kobe has Chris Mihm and Kwame Brown.

Shawn Marion. He is top 10 in about every category in the league and is one of a few 20-10 guys. Steve Nash gets all the press but Marion has been holding that team together all year, they would lose more games without Marion then without Nash. All of their bigs have been hurt all year and Marion, a 3, has been playing 4 all year and does everthing for his team.
