TO has a rather interesting number.

SeanTaylorRIP 02-20-2007 04:44 PM

A little surprising that the Skins only have 1 player on that entire list which shows the top 10 player earnings for every position.

princefielder28 02-20-2007 04:57 PM

Of all the Packers on any list; Bubba is most useless

Shiver 02-20-2007 04:59 PM

I cannot believe Warrick Dunn makes more money, more cap charge, than Brian Westbrook. He had better take a pay cut!

Dewayne Robertson, New York Jets: $9,417,760

John Henderson, Jacksonville: $6,836,500

Jamal Williams, San Diego: $6,650,000
ugh...

Robertson is also set to make the second most money amongst all defensive players. trailing the DPOY by about 50k

Packers have 4 with the most surprising being that Ryan Pickett is #5 on the DT list.

The Unseen 02-20-2007 05:20 PM

Deon Grant, eh?

yech.

jdcozart 02-20-2007 05:21 PM

Really interesting stuff...Dwayne Robertson makes almost three million more per year than any other DT in the league.

yourfavestoner 02-20-2007 05:22 PM

That makes me happy. We don't have any players up there that shouldn't be up there.

Vikes99ej 02-20-2007 05:25 PM

Leonard Davis? Yeesh. I only saw one or two Vikings.

Damix 02-20-2007 05:27 PM

Not horrible, Strahan is to be expected, Toomer is a canidate to restructure, Shockey is the 3rd highest paid for arguably the 3rd best TE.

Deon Grant?

sweetness34 02-20-2007 05:41 PM

Dan Morgan is getting paid more than Urlacher, now that just ain't right. And according to this, RMJ is the highest paid player on our defense.

Ah you gotta love the NFL sometimes. Btw, how is Rod Smith getting 7 mil per year?

FloridaFootball 02-20-2007 05:42 PM

How is Adam Vinnateri not on the list for kickers?

ks_perfection 02-20-2007 05:58 PM

Must be the way his contract is structured

etk 02-20-2007 05:58 PM

Olin Kreutz is arguably the best center in the league, but NO center deserves over $10 Mil a year. No lineman that isn't a LT should be paid that much, let alone a center.

Komp 02-20-2007 06:14 PM

hmm

I'm just glad the Raiders are getting the most bang for their buck out of Moss and Jordan....

He is one of the more underrated players out there.

Finsfan79 02-20-2007 06:29 PM

Punters/kickers

Olindo Mare, Miami: $2,321,181

sooo needs to be cut.

02-20-2007 06:46 PM

why isn't Ed Reed on the list for Safeties?

neko4 02-20-2007 06:48 PM

the thing that sticks out to me (prolly cuz i am steelers fan) but troy p. isn't in the top 10 when only 2 of the safties in the top 10 or even on the same level as him ( b-dawk and sean taylor)

Because he is in the first year of a contract. The first year on any contract most likely has the smallest base salary of any year. A lot of time it is close to the NFL minimum, but players don't mind because they get all of their multi million dollar signing bonus that same year. It jumps up significantly by year 3 most times.

This is also the same reason Amani Toomer is in the top 10 of WRs. He is in his second to last year of his multi year contract. His base salary figure is high. He is a prime candidate to restructure.

bearsfan_51 02-20-2007 07:00 PM

I'm going to put this in bold so people notice.

This list is how much these players made this year, not the average amount they make every year, or how much they count against the cap

Therefore, while Olin Kruetz made 10 million this year, that's because he signed a contract extension during the season that gave him a large signing bonus. He is by no means the #2 best paid offensive lineman in the NFL.
