any intelligent Bucs fans here? have a question about C John Wade

Oak recently signed him, is he a good center?

thankz

Strengths:

Veteran Center than can make the line calls, good for chemistry.

Weaknesses:

Weak lower and upper body, gets overpowered at the line of scrimmage because he is too lanky.

Personally I think he's awful and I'm glad we lost him.

I assume that will be the case.

Don't forget he sweats a lot... Which will be referenced in every broadcast. However, black could be a good color for him.

We did upgrade at the center position with Faine.

which is completely irrelevant to the question at hand?

He's smart, he plays angles well. He's not physically strong so big guys who anchor inside directly over him give him issues. He's the definition of a finesse player.

Most Buc fans are hyper-critical of Wade because it lets higher profile guys like Davin Joseph off the hook for not being as good as they should be. As a backup, he's a really good option.

Not really, I just don't like finesse interior linemen, especially not when he's sandwiched between 2 big, young maulers. It hurts our run game.

Davin's role at ROG hurts us more since he's got no consistency in his game. For a mauler he doesn't annihilate the line the way you'd think he should. Wade would have been fine if the guys around him were better. Wade is ok as your 5th best OL but when he has to be your 2nd your line has issues.

Frankly, Faine is just as a much a finesse guy as Wade was so I'm not sure that issue is going away. Still can't figure out that disgusting overpay.

I've seen varying reports on Faine: some (more) say he's finesse and doesn't have much power as a run blocker, while others saying he's fine in that regard. He's not a very big lineman, but we'll see. From a size and frame standpoint he looks like Mike Pollak but I'm not a fan of his.

He is finesse... he'll handle smaller DTs, but big DTs absolutely own him. A lot. He's a much better pass protector than he is a run blocker as well.

Does he seem like he is a good leader and control the offensive line well/make good adjustments

That's actually one of his better traits imo.

Wade would be fine if he didn't get blocked into the backfield on every run play and knocked on his backside most pass plays.....
