Jeff George Eyeing Comeback @ 39?

George, 39, earlier this week contacted Falcons general manager Rich McKay, ESPN.com has learned, to inquire about the backup vacancy created by the trade that sent Matt Schaub to the Houston Texans for a package of draft choices. And while it remains a long shot to even suggest that the Falcons actually might consider George, who hasn't been on an NFL roster in three years, McKay apparently didn't dismiss it out of hand.

Just retire already and be done with it!
Any one think its legit?

TACKLE 03-24-2007 11:56 AM

RaVeNFaNaCtIc 03-24-2007 12:15 PM

Ho0k Em' 03-24-2007 12:16 PM

he won't make a team.

Damix 03-24-2007 12:18 PM

Let him come back, the game is better when George is in uniform

yourfavestoner 03-24-2007 12:19 PM

He easilyyyy had one of the best arms in the history of the NFL. I'd be kinda interested to see what he could do at 39.

MP123 03-24-2007 12:53 PM

I want to him to ever play in the NFL again. He needs to accept that he sucks.

Didnt he try this last year and was cut by the Raiders??????

Heath Schuler just got contacted by Daniel Snyder, he could get a 10 millin dollar contract

Only if he brings the mustache back will I care.

energizerbunny 03-24-2007 02:41 PM

probally one of the best arms to ever play the game. It wouldn't be shocking if they gave him a tryout or let him come to camp.

Take a good look at your future JaMarcus Russell. One day, you too will be able to say that you can throw the ball 80 yards downfield to the opposition just like Jeff George once did.

He's bored, he's broke, and he's back. But he's not Riggo.

Didn't Oakland sign him at the beginning of last year and cut him soon after?

Boston 03-24-2007 06:49 PM

HA! Maybe he could use his cane to fend off d-lineman.
