Thank God we got Michael Jenkins I was starting to think our receivers might suck this year or something.

the guy is only six months older than Nick Fairley. I wouldn't count him out just yet.

And he did indeed just sign.

He's a really good blocker though!

M.O.T.H. 07-30-2011 07:34 PM

WELL ONE OF THOSE BUSTS HAVE TO WORK OUT RIGHT? RIGHT? *sigh*

then again, idc, they are all cheap.

bearsfan_51 07-30-2011 07:35 PM

Actually, I love the Okoye signing. Dude is still only 24 and wasn't that bad.

I wouldn't be surprised if Vernon Gholston turns into a 16-sack monster next year.

That'd be so appropriate - he looks like the biggest bust in NFL history, and then suddenly he turns into Reggie White overnight.

yo123 07-30-2011 07:36 PM

Amobi Okoye is a decent flyer I think.

Not a "bust", but even Sam Hurd is a guy who jumped on in hope of becoming a real contributer at WR. They're really hoping to find some gold this off-season.

Something about this site not understanding that Vernon Gholston is atrocious just irritates me for some reason.

I guess it's probably because the site is draft focused and people can't accept that some of these guys just weren't what they were cracked up to be.

lol you keep telling yourself that

bearsfan_51 07-30-2011 07:38 PM

It's the same person over and over.

Still don't get why the Texans cut Okoye. He was by far their best DT last year, maybe that's not saying much, but still. I think he starts for the Bears this year.

He was misused by the Eagles the past two years in a two-gap system. He was one of the best pass-rushing DT prospects coming out of FSU in 2006 and I think he could easily become great.

I knows who you are, precious. Yes I does.

Womack was a good player for the Seahawks for a while. His problem has been that he couldn't stay healthy. But he's very versatile, played everywhere but center for the Seahawks.

But what would it take for the Saints to get him?
