SKYRIM

Decided to make an official Skyrim thread since people will be getting it on different systems.

I'm rolling with the PC version myself, obviously.

Hate the console-ported user interface for PC (simple mod should fix it), but everything else is amazing. DA2 did the same thing with its interface, and it's becoming more and more common. Makes sense because it's a lot harder to port a UI from PC to console than the other way around...it's still lazy and clunky.

What did everyone create for their first character?

I'm going straight RP for the setting and rolled a Nord. Mostly have used two-handed weapons so far, so I imagine I'll start down that path, but am not certain. I took the first Smithing perk, but have not invested beyond that (level 5).

Unfortunately, my gaming was interrupted by electricians and a planned date tonight. Will continue my quest tomorrow!

Mate of mine just bought it for me!

Ngatachance92 11-11-2011 08:04 PM

I want to get it, but the days I work I don't have time for it and the days I'm off I'm never home. It's ******** there are too many good games coming out, and I am aware that me complaining about that is ******** but whatevers.

BeerBaron 11-11-2011 08:07 PM

I'm going to give it a a little time and then get it for PC. I'm a huuuuge huuuuuge Morrowind fan but unmodded Oblivion made me want to cry.

I'll see what the flaws of the game turn out to be and let the modding community fix them up. Plus, I might be able to a used copy for cheap if I want a bit.

I'm going to look at getting once I get paid Tuesday. It looks ******* awesome. I've always enjoyed RPG's in the past

gsorace 11-11-2011 08:15 PM

Played like 5 hours non stop and it ran beautifully (PC) not one glitch or bug, though maybe i've been lucky.

I made an Argonian just like I did in Morrowind and Oblivion. The dragon fights are ridiculously epic.

Ngatachance92 11-11-2011 08:23 PM

Do you face dragons right off the break?

Fairly early on if you follow the main quest

NY+Giants=NYG 11-11-2011 08:52 PM

Anyone a vampire yet? How about the "other" supernatural creature?

BeerBaron 11-11-2011 08:55 PM

Alright, spoilers are about to fly, I'm peaceing out until I get the game.

Caddy 11-11-2011 08:56 PM

Spoiler tags please gents.

gsorace 11-11-2011 09:13 PM

Just found out I got into SW:tor beta, dragon slaying may have to wait.

Go_Eagles77 11-11-2011 10:48 PM

Played for about 5 hours straight when I got home from work today and have loved every minute of it. Amazing game.

Edit: As for my character, I made a Nord with a steady rotation of a 1-handed sword, shield, destruction/restoration spells and a bow. For my first character (the one I spend the most time on) I like to make a jack-of-all-trades type guy, then later I'll probably make a stealthy dude (still have no idea which race I'll pick here, I'm leaning argonian because they look bad ass) and maybe even a pure mage and pure warrior in the future. I can see this game keeping me occupied for quite a while.

I'm pretty new. I only played a little bit of Oblivion and never got around to Morrowind. I really like it. Some things aren't very straight forward, but you figure them out.

same here, a buddy of mine at work got me interested. Only problem is, like many others, i do not have enough time in the day to sit around and play video games.

I may pick it up.

Damix 11-12-2011 02:31 AM

Just started playing. Beginning of the game is a bit intense.

Just like how you would everything else. put a bracket then insert the word spoiler and to end it put /spoiler in the bracket

NY+Giants=NYG 11-12-2011 10:50 AM

Thanks! I tried that before and somehow it failed. But here is something players might like.

ImBrotherCain 11-12-2011 11:06 AM

Okay... Note to self and all that care. If you are still a low level don't **** with a Mammoth. They are big, fast, take a ton of damage and deal out more.
