Sometimes he looks like a first rounder to me - plays low and reminds me a bit of Aldon Smith.

But not consistent enough for me - however, he was dealing with a knee injury the second half of last year, so if that was an issue but is now 100% clear - then I could live with him late in the first.

Ryan Tannehill at 25. Mock is invalid.

God forbid he not like Tannehill, but I agree he's going much higher.

It depends on what he's trying to do with the mock. Is this a quasi-ranking/mock draft or is he trying to accurately predict where people will go?

why would he?

Skins taking RG3. Seattle signed Flynn. Miami likely trading for Tebow.

who else NEEDS a QB? Cleveland can likely get Tannehill at 22.

Trogdor 03-19-2012 01:48 PM

Coples at 14? Sign me up.

Thecollegedropout 03-19-2012 01:48 PM

Whitney Mercelius over Mike Floyd is a No-No though I can see the Jets going for a pass rusher.

*Draft Day 2012*

*Packers on the clock with Courtney Upshaw miraculously on the board still*

*Packers select Chandler Jones*

*Mqt throws a chair at the TV*

bruschis4all 03-19-2012 02:42 PM

I like his Pats mock. Brockers and Barron. I'd probably go with Upshaw and Stlll so that mqtirishfan doesn't break his tv though:wave:

Sounds familiar... like drafting Harrell a few years ago.

Sigh

The argument for drafting Chandler Jones is kind of hilarious, "Because Cullen Jenkins left a year ago in free agency, the Packers need to see if a 266 lb guy can play the 5-technique position."

I mean, if they think he can play OLB, the Packers would be happy with Jones (though maybe not at #28), but at DE? No chance whatsoever.

Oh yeah - no chance he's a 5 technique - peels off blocks - hand use and strength not good enough at 3-4 DE. Quickness as a pass rusher = 3-4 OLB - maybe...

The Chiefs at 11.

Not if Miami signs Alex Smith. It is kinda realistic if that happens.

just signed Brady Quinn. And drafted Stanzi last year. No It's not a shocking amount of talent but if they were thinking of taking Tannehill they probably don't sign Quinn. I guess it possible. But they would be bidding against themselves at 11. they could trade down 10 spots and still get him. It's not like Cassell was benched, he got hurt.

vidae 03-19-2012 06:11 PM

It isn't like Cassel is good either, though. Like I've said before, I'm a big fan of Tannehill and I don't care if we signed Quinn or drafted Stanzi, this team is a good QB away from contending.

Apparently they think that good QB is Matt Cassel!

vidae 03-19-2012 06:14 PM

There is no way to know that. Stop trolling Shane.

ChiefMojo 03-19-2012 06:52 PM

I just don't see KC taking Tannehill. I do agree the signing of Quinn pretty much secures the line of thought they are done with QB. Just face it, Pioli is going to go with Cassel.

To be honest, I'm not that high on Tannehill as you or some others. I think he is a late first round talent at best. The only reason he will go higher is out of QB desperation.

If he is there at #11, then I think he is a perfect trade down piece for someone that may want him a lot worse. I just think prospects like DeCastro and Kuechly are much more enticing than Tannehill.

how can you use Brady Quinn as a reason as to why the Chiefs shouldn't draft a QB? you dont not get a potential franchise quarterback because you have Brady Quinn lol.

I opened this thread because I had a hunch Iamcanadian made it. I was not disappointed.

SenorGato 03-19-2012 07:09 PM

I think the Jets go pass rusher...Mercilus is talented enough that I'm fine with it if Rex is down. He does move well enough for the position anyway. He's not my favorite talent for the DE/OLB move, but Perry and Curry have their questions as well.

You don't believe that pass-rusher with 10 sacks in 3 years should go in the first round!?!
