Jock A Prospect
 

My idea for this thread is for college fans to jock one of the players on their team that the rest of the country might not know about. This isn't for your RG3's or Von Miller's, more so guys you think could be sleepers in the draft or guys who aren't getting their respective dues.

I'll start off with the guy in my signature: Stedman Bailey. If you haven't checked out my link, please do. You can see him put some nice moves on Tyron Mathieu and Claiborne. I'd love to hear what you guys think of him, one of my friends compared him to Steve Smith of the Panthers and I think that's the best comparison so far.

He's 5' 10" 193 pounds, and probably runs in the high 4.4's. Not as quick as Smith but he has amazing body control like him and runs amazing routes. He also has really good hands and just has a knack for making plays.



This will be his (RS) Junior year and thus eligible for the draft next year. I really think he is going be a stud.

Blake Bortles of UCF. He'll be a redshirt sophomore this year. He has yet to start a game but he played a ton last year. He's 6'4 220 so he has very impressive size. His arm seems pretty strong. It's not Stafford strong but I think it is good enough. And he has above average athleticism.

BYU Kyle Van Noy 6'3" 235 lbs OLB. Animal.

Taveon Rogers, WR/KR, New Mexico State

Eric Reid...

I now people know who he is but I think people are sleeping on him a little.

WR Ross Apo 6'3" 205 lbs.

Ryan Swope, WR, TAMU #25

In this game, his best of the season, he had 11 catches for 206 yards and 4 TDs.



You can't miss him, he's A&M's only white WR.

NT "Big" John Hankins, 6'3, 335 lbs.

Since Stanford is losing all of our offensive talent I have to rep what we have on D. These guys are semi known as prospects but aren't well know nationally.

Shane Skov ILB Stanford Senior 6'3" 251 lbs.

Was a leader and a driving force his sophomore year. Came back last year and got his knee destroyed in our 3 game and the defense felt his loss all year long. He was a difference maker out there. Strong blitzer with 7 sacks in 2010 and 5 sacks in 3 games in 2011. If he heals well he should be a real good prospect.

Chase Thomas OLB (3-4) Senior Stanford 6'4" 240 lbs

Experience 3-4 OLB with 15.5 sacks and 28.5 TFLs over the past 2 seasons. Gets pressure but also is pretty good at dropping off in coverage also. Moves around the defense to find ways to attack including snaps at 4-3 DE.

And now he's going to be in a Mike Leach offense? Yikes.

Vols LB's Jacques Smith [Junior] and Curt Maggitt [Sophomore].

Maggitt is moving inside in the Vols new 3-4. 6'3, 227 lbs. He's built a lot like Keith Bulluck (looooooooooooong arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrms), and should make a good tandem with ILB AJ Johnson. Kinda disappointed he's not staying outside, since he could be a dynamic pass-rusher.




Quez is from Ooltewah, a suburb of Chattanooga, so that in and of itself makes him special. 6'3, 242, and came out of high school with comparisons to Lawrence Timmons. He'll be playing rushbacker, and should be great at it with his quickness and explosiveness.

Rutgers I'll give one offense and one defense.

WR Brandon Coleman 6'6 with 4.4 speed. If he puts it together watch out.
CB Logan Ryan Shutdown CB last year and I expect more of the same. Better than DMac which means he should end up in the 1st.

Star Lotulelei DL 6'4" 330 lbs



a very quick 6'4" 330 lbs. i think star is gonna find himself among the long line of ute defensive lineman who end up in the league and become solid starters. dude is a hog that will need to be double teamed EVERY play so you can run your offense. worked the Georgia Tech offensive line in the bowl game. opted to come back and play his senior year. i think with another solid year, he could end up in the 1st round next year.

John White IV RB 5'8" 190



smaller back but tough as nails. tore it up last season in norm chows offense. might see less carries now that utah might be going back to the spread under brian johnson. could have made a case for him being the best RB in the pac-12 last season.

Brad Sorensen, QB, Southern Utah. Got to watch a bit of him, legit 2nd rounder next year.

You have no idea how excited I am that Mike Leach is coaching again. I hate Tech, but I loved watching their games. That offense is wonderful.

Yea, should be fun to watch. I still think Maryland whiffed by not going after him and opting for Edsall.

Anyways, how could I forget my boy Geno Smith earlier? Not a national sleeper but I'm curious to see his draft grade. Can't wait to see what he does in year two of Holgorson's Eer-Raid offense.:freakout: Also, Tavon Austin!! :freakout:

I literally watched every Texas A&M game so I could assess Tannehill and kept coming away saying "damn this 25 is really good..."

David Amerson. If you don't know the name, learn it now. This kid is a ball hawk.

Sheldon Richardson is a guy that people will have as a 2nd day selection and then the Combine will come and people will have him top 15.

6'4 315 pounds, 4.72 forty, former Tight End, Returned kicks in HS.

Not the best quality but that Stedman guy at 0:40 from last nights top 10.

I really liked the Steadman Bailey video in your sig. Looks like he's gonna have a good career in the NFL.

I see your David Amerson and raise you a Brandon Bishop.

6'2" 210# Safety. Not an AMAZING athlete, but he's very capable of playing at the next level. Career stats: 194 tackles, 4.5 tfl, 2 FC, 1 FR, 4 PBU, 9 INT.

Also, Earl Wolff is a safety to look at as well. 6' 207#. Better athlete than Bishop, but his FB IQ is not as quick to react in coverage. Career stats (3 yrs): 247 tackles, 6.5 tfl, 2 sacks, 2 QBP, 7 FC, 3 FR, 7 PBU, 4 INT.

Both of these guys are probably 4-6th round guys at the moment, but they could have huge years with teams throwing away from Amerson.

I hope so with Stedman.

The guy who did that video is one of the best highlight video guys in the business, wvu fans are lucky to have him. He will be putting out his Tavon Austin video pretty soon and I'm sure I'll be posting it here haha.

FSU LB/Human Missile Telvin Smith. I don't know what position he'll play in the NFL (probably Strong Safety) but he'll make some team very happy for a number of years.
