Who is the worst high pressure kicker in NFL history?
I don't see how it isn't Mike Vanderjagt.
|
In recent memory? Billy Cundiff. Thanks, Billy. Also Nick Folk...
|
![]() I still hate the guy. |
Billy Cundiff no debate. I sitll cant believe he is the highest paid kicker in the history of the NFL. He took 3 years to juice out of his ******* mind then when they make PED rules he stinks like he did before his first year with us.

doug brien was my hero in 2005
it has to be vanderjact, a hero of mine in the 2006 playoffs |
Look at this douchebag. It's him. He's the worst, ever.

It's Vandy. But Kaeding is up there too.
But yeah, Vanderjagt hands down is the worst. |
Nate Kaeding - Career FG%
Regular Season: 86.5% (best in NFL history) Postseason: 53.3% |

But i still stand with what i said about kaeding. |
Don't forget about me.

I understand that pressure kicks are attempted in the regular season, but true pressue comes in the post-season. With that said...
Norwood may have one of the most famous misses in NFL history, but he was 13-18 (72%) career in the playoffs and 2-3 in Super Bowls. Billy Cundiff was 12-14 (86%) in the playoffs. Mike Vanderjagt was 11-14 (79%) in his career in the postseason. Nate Kaeding, on the other hand is only 8-15 (53%) in the post-season. |
![]() This guy... |
Kaeding is clearly Vanderjagts understudy but who's after Kaeding? The Chargers need to get back to the postseason for Kaeding to defend his title.
|
Justin Medlock

thank you, broth, for reminding me of this scene. |
Neil Rackers was always horrible with the game on the line
|
The Gramatica brothers and Justin Medlock
all though did he even play during the regular season? |

1 name sticks out to me, Lindley Franklin Elliott Jr. he missed from 35, 39 and 42 in a 3 point game in a playoffs that the Chiefs had Home Field through out. mentioning his name in KC starts fights. |
Medlock just didn't belong in the NFL and never should have been drafted. He certainly shouldn't have been drafted ahead of Crosby. I can't imagine what the Chiefs were thinking.
A lot of the guys being mentioned were just not great kickers. You have to figure that if a guy makes 75% of his FGs, he misses one of four. It's not a shocker if these guys miss some in the post season. Kaeding is a neat case because he really does seem to have choked his ass off. Also, Norwood didn't have a very good hold on his kick. It's the most famous miss in NFL history, but it wasn't entirely his fault. |
