Yikes
4 out of the next 5 on the road (2 divisional road and one division leading road Eagles)
Then last 7 GB twice, Chicago and 3 undefeated teams (Hou, Atl, at Arizona) Tough hill to climb from a 1-3 start. Lions are streaky won 5 in a row then 2-5 then 3 in a row then loss Week 17/playoffs. Now 1-3. They better get on a hot streak and play much better football pretty soon or the fat lady will be singing quickly. at Philly then at Chicago need one of them if not both. |
If we want to be the best, then we have to beat the best. Call it character building?

Alright guys, we've been viewing this thing all wrong.
We're 1-3 now. If the season were to end today, then we'd be in an 8-way tie for the 3rd draft pick. Draft range: Pick 3-10 Projected Top 5ish Players Matt Barkley Star Lotulelei Jarvis Jones David Amerson Barkevious Mingo Taylor Lewan/Luke Joeckel/ So are we hoping that David Amerson and one of Jarvis Jones/Bark Mingo to fall to us? Or do we grab a Taylor Lewan? Or should we engage in the ever popular trade down option? We can accumulate picks for our porous defense and weak oline? This is so much more fun...I wish I had some kind of wacky quote from a head coach right now. |
Another scary stat is the Lions didn't beat a playoff team last year (well Tebow led Broncos) and beat the Rams this year. The Rams do look a lot better though. I'd want Mingo or Jarvis Jones if it actually gets that bad. KVB is declining, Avril is probably gone.

Yeah Lions are going to have to beat a team over .500 this year to go 10-6. They are going to have to beat alot of them in fact. at Philly, Chicago, Green Bay, Atlanta, at Arizona at least and also Indy, Seattle, at Jax, at Minnesota and losing only at GB, Houston, at Chicago.
I agree on DE. Avril is probably gone and our best DE, KVB is declining big time. A stud DE is needed as Willie Young(only 1 hurry) and Lo Jack(only 1 hit) have done very little as backups too. Lo Jack is a a free agent along with Corey Williams and Sammie Lee Hill. Or a stud CB |
at NFC East (at Dallas now at Philly)
Chicago MNF bad QB, good running game, good secondary (KC now Seattle) terrible Florida team on the road (at TB now at Jax) at Minnesota That was a 5 game winning streak last year. It better be one again this year or 4-1 at least since it is at Chicago on MNF to get us out of this whole. |
Delmas back at practice today. That's a very good thing.

Silva did well, not seeing him or noticing in coverage is a good thing. Peterson did well but didn't break the big one which is good and holding the Vikings to 6 offensive points is good.
Lions need to get to 6-5 by after Thanksgiving game. Tough to do but possible. Have to beat Seattle, at Jax, at Minnesota and Green Bay at home. Winning the next 2 would be huge though but most likely a split. 1-5 would be way too tough to recover. 25 PPG offensively and 18 PPG defensivley taking out all the bogus 42 points from special teams, pick 6 and Pettigrew strip. Delmas back. Lions can do this and they will have earned it if they do. 10-6, 11-5 can win this division or at the very least playoffs. |
