In all seriousness, it's not that I didn't want people to know what I looked like. I just didn't see the need to plaster my mug all over the internet. Also, when I started out a mentor advised me to kind of keep my age a secret because people have a tendancy to not take someone in their late teens or early twenties seriously. At least that was the case fifteen to twenty years ago.
