Difference between TFL and Stuffs?

On yahoo sports stats, Demeco Ryans, Von Miller, and JJ Swatt are all tied for the league lead in stuffs with 12. However, earlier today during the Houston game, a stat was shown that JJ leads the league in tackles for loss with 26. I then went to ESPN and checked out the boxscore for the first couple Houston games and JJ definitely has more than 12 tackles for loss (I counted 10 in the first 4 games in the boxscores so JJ probably does indeed have 26 TFL).

So my question is...what is the difference between the two?

Tackles for loss includes sacks. I think stuffs just refers to runs stopped for no/short gain.

This would be my guess.

Tackles for a loss include sacks but do not include sacks that result in a fumble. For instance, if a player strips the QB is given credit for a FF and a sack. However, if he just sacks the QB, he is given credit for a sack and a tackle for a loss.

Stuffs are tackles that result in a loss but are not sacks.

Neither record stops for no gain.
