2013 Draft Buzz / Rumors

Quote:

"Everybody" in the NFL has Florida DT Sharrif Floyd graded as a top-five overall player, according to former scout Daniel Jeremiah.
"He's a special pass rusher," said Jeremiah. "You put him in a three-technique, he's capable of getting you double-digit sacks."
Quote:

Draft insider Tony Pauline is hearing that the Steelers are "drooling" over BYU pass rusher Ezekiel Ansah.
Pauline adds that the team would play Ansah as a rush linebacker.
Quote:

Draft insider Tony Pauline says FSU T Menelik Watson is getting a lot of first-round mentions from teams.
Quote:

CBS Sports' Dane Brugler thinks if Cincinnati TE Travis Kelce makes it out of the second-round, he "could be a steal."
Kelce will not workout at the Combine due to an abdominal injury, likely the same issue that kept him from the Senior Bowl.
Quote:

One unnamed NFL evaluator told Pro Football Weekly that Cincinnati TE Travis Kelce is "a trainwreck character-wise."
The same evaluator stated that Kelce's baggage will push him down to the third-round, at least. Kelce was suspended for the entire 2010 season after breaking unspecified team rules the day before the Sugar Bowl.
Steelers interest in Ziggy means they really want Jarvis Jones. About Watson in the first, I think I heard Mayock mention he's graded him as a first round talent as well.

I could see the Steelers with Ansah. Don't worry about him playing in space, just let him go after the QB every play.

I've heard similar things about Kelce. He reminds me of Gronk on and off the field and that wouldn't stop me from drafting him in the 3rd, if he falls there.

So I did some research from past threads/past Rotoworld posts.

Generally, when guys are said to be moving up and down the board by the media, those reports are fairly accurate.

But the specific Player X to Team Y connections hit on about a 20% rate. Schefter included.

Casserly is probably the most accurate source with ties to the league. Otherwise, it's a crapshoot. Pauline got a few things right. Zeirlein too. Glazer got the Julio trade right but that was the only report he had the past two years in our rumors thread.

So latest:

- Falcons looking to move up (apparently they have 11 picks - who knew?)
- Vikings looking to move up with one of their firsts.
- Justin Hunter might be the first WR drafted (I doubt this very much but maybe he'll go in the first)
- Milliner "falling" out of the top 10.
- D.J. Hayden "rising" into the first.
- Looks like Branden Albert to the Phins is going to happen for one of their 2nds. But it will happen on Friday morning - not before the first round.

ive heard ansah/steelers for a while, i could see it...and if hes gonna play in a 34 the steelers are his best bet.

Huh? The Steelers would have to trade up to get him. That's not their style at all.

K Train 04-18-2013 11:05 PM

they traded up for polamalu and santonio holmes

SuperPacker 04-18-2013 11:08 PM

they'd probably have to trade up to #1 to make sure they got ansah

@AdamSchefter 13h
A trashed hotel room at Indy scouting combine that Yahoo reported on belonged to Clemson WR DeAndre Hopkins and Rutgers WR Mark Harrison.

‏@AdamSchefter 13h
NFL sources said they are convinced that Rutgers wide receiver Mark Harrison is not responsible for the trashed hotel room.

Also saw others tweeting that Hopkins wasn't responsible too. Discuss.
