2013 Pro Day Results Thread

Let's make this the official thread for pro day results. Post any pro day results in this thread so we can keep up. Thanks.

Word is Akeem Shavers stood out at Purdue's pro day, running in the 4.3 range. Kawann Short didn't work out due to an injury, but scouts were there to get another look at CB Josh Johnson after a disappointing combine.

I actually have Shavers at 4.45. His 4.35 or 4.38 that he ran is handtimed. Don't believe everything you read.

March 19th. Get Ready.

Despite the fact that he has very little production and played at Northern Iowa, 4.19 40 yard dash and 40.5" vertical has to be worth an invite to a training camp somewhere.

Obviously he didn't really run a 4.19. The Vikings scout said he timed all three attempts in the 4.3s. Still a burner who's going to get some notice.

On a side note, the kid's highlight video is hilarious. He never got to run 9 routes because the QB couldn't hit the broad side of a barn deep.

Perhaps he'll be the next Marques Colston. That's what every scout dreams of, a top caliber player in round 7.

Hand times are AWESOME!!!!
4.19 official 'unofficial'.

Still Sinkfield doesn't sound like a very good football player. Hopefully he has a role on special teams as a returner.

Yeah Sam Houston State!

But seriously, is Carradine going to work out?

If Marques ran a 4.2 he would've been a Top 5 pick.

Colston's also twice that guy's size. I have no idea what he was getting at, lol.

Small school sleeper receiver? Maybe?

Ok, but he could have just gone with fellow small school sleeper Johnny Knox, who is basically the same size and speed, too.

I know. The Colston comparison had me scratching my head ala Fresh Prince. If I had to guess where the correllation was made it would just be they are both small school receivers.

Wasn't Colston a TE at Hofstra anyways, Or did he just start out there with NO?

Nikolas 03-05-2013 04:19 PM

I was just referring to the fact of a small school sleeper receiver performing well.

Pretty much what Monomach said.

No thoughts on Terron Armstead from Arkansas Pine Bluff? He's 6'5 306lbs and ran a 4.65 at the combine, supossedly had an "outstanding" combine. Then Mayock gave him some high praise:

Quote:

"He's gonna be a starting left tackle in the league down the road," said NFL Network's Mike Mayock. "This kid is rising up charts."

If that is the case, where is he going to be drafted? Guys with his athleticism and the ability to start at LT don't grow on trees, and he's been a steady riser all off-season. We are giving him a private workout, and he'd be our instant starter at RT.

No, he was a WR but was projected as a TE because he was big and hadn't a good 40 yard.

ps : I can't find the source but I read somewhere that he had the fastest 10 yard split in his WR class.

BallerT1215 03-05-2013 06:37 PM

Colston had the worse case of drops you have ever seen in his workouts as well.

That with his 40 time.....

Dude is a beast - No one saw it coming.

Rayon Simmons, RB Winona State:

5'9" 223 lbs
4.67 Forty
32" Vertical
9'5" Broad Jump
6.9 3-cone
4.3 Short Shuttle

Watch the run at 3:00: https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...Zssf8#t=18 0s

He's got some nasty cutback ability.

Reportedly ran a 4.27 on his first, 4.19 on his second and 4.41 on his 3rd attempt which he reportedly slipped on

BallerT1215 03-05-2013 07:29 PM

Just a heads up.

It was reported that Vince Young will work out at Texas's pro day....Dude is not giving up the dream....

I smiled when i read the news.

raphael 03-05-2013 07:37 PM

Vince is broke, isn't he? Needs the money.
