LOLwut? Dallas has zero need for a WR and has a ton of high priority needs that need to be selected before taking a luxury pick.

:/ Passing on Kawann Short here would draw a collective groan from 'Boys fans. Gholston makes sense in the 3rd not the second. Cyprien or Amerson (convert to FS) would also be solid selections.

Don't hate the pick although we have a huge need for a blocking TE and James Hanna is already established as the pass catching option behind Witten. No way Menelik Watson falls past here. Other solid options would be Williams, Schwenke, or either of the other RBs taken this round (Lattimore or Franklin).

Not a very good draft for Dallas :/

vidae 03-10-2013 02:21 PM

Not a fan of Joeckel at all. Overrated. Would prefer Fisher. Arthur Brown in the third is great though.

BallerT1215 03-10-2013 02:27 PM

First two rounds are perfect.

With us taking Mingo in the 1st, it would not make sense to take Collins in the 3rd since we have a need at ILB. Sean Porter would be a better pick for the bills at that point.

Cigaro 03-10-2013 02:39 PM

No reason at all for us to take Sheldon Richardson over Star Lotulelei. If Star is being taken fifteenth, clearly his heart has checked out. Star is also a much better need fit, as he can man the NT spot, while Richardson can only play UT, which we already have addressed, basically leaving us with the same exact need. Poyer in the second is good.

I'd love to hear a legitimate explanation for this. Obviously Ponder played poorly last year, but the coaching staff is pretty much tied to him so this would never happen.

Shupp 03-10-2013 02:56 PM

That's an interesting SF draft. I'm not completely sold on Jenkins and Reid and we probably don't need to use (2) of our picks in the 1st 3 rounds on WR's but having said that it's a pretty sick draft for SF. Well done.

With your board I go: Banks @ 31, Hunter @ 34, Hunt @ 61, and Escobar @ 93.

QFT

(10 char)

I am fine with the Jets taking a safety somewhere in the 1st 3 rounds...really I am? BUT TWO in the 1st 3 rounds, including one in the top ten??!?!?!?! No OLB in the 1st 3 rounds too?

Switch our 1st round pick to Ansah and that's a draft I'd like as a Jets fan.

Good job on Green Bay. Would take that & smile...... but:

I would rather have Arthur Brown than Cyprien as I believe our ILB's are terrible and Brown looks like a 10-year starter to me who will instantly upgrade this defense, which you all saw was a bunch of walking turnstyles against Colin Kaepernick.

Margus Hunt seems like an ideal Packer pick if there at 55.

Bostic also would upgrade this defense.
This just in: AJ Hawk sucks. He forces the same amount of turnovers than you do in the NFL.

I also think Markus Wheaton has a much higher ceiling than Ball does, and even though the Packers are still deeper at WR than RB, they lost Jennings & Driver this off-season, plus Jones' contract is almost up. Ted Thompson finds gem WR's in Rds 2-3 all the time (Jennings, Jones, Jordy, Cobb) and usually 1-2 years before he needs them.

Quote:

•NFL.com: ”His quickness is blatant and dangerous. Whether taking off from the slot or outside, his feet are literally a step ahead of his defender on everything from speed outs, crossers, to jerk routes. Displays the flexibility to grab throws behind him or over his shoulder when running deep. He’ll also extend away from his body to bring in high or wide throws, and will stutter on the sideline to ensure he makes the catch in-bounds. Possesses some thickness to his frame, and is willing to lower his shoulder to get the extra yard – often diving under defenders to get as many as possible. Wheaton also dabbled in track while at OSU, reminding scouts of his elite speed.”
•eDraft.com: “Wheaton’s biggest asset is definitely his speed. Though he only ran a 4.45 40-yard dash at the combine, he has elite football speed. He was often used on jet sweeps and bubble screens where the Beavers just gave him the ball and let him do the rest. He can eat up cushion off the line in a heartbeat, and he can pull away from defensive backs in the open field. Often players with Wheaton’s speed are just track stars who get lost on the gridiron … He has smart and quick in his route running, showing an understanding of most of the routes on the route tree. He sets defensive backs up with head fakes and route angles, and sinks his hips well, exploding out of his breaks … In the games I viewed, he faced press a few times and showed great quickness and technical ability to overcome it.”

Very good Bengals picks.

coordinator0 03-10-2013 04:06 PM

The first two picks for Baltimore are alright but the third round pick sucks again. RB is about the most set position on the team.

holt_bruce81 03-10-2013 04:45 PM

Rams don't need two Outside linebackers.

Way too high for a journeyman backup type.

What this man said.

Pat Sims 90 03-10-2013 10:05 PM

The only pick I don't like is Minter he is pretty much the same player as Rey Maualuga.

killxswitch 03-10-2013 10:17 PM

Moore is good. Winters, meh, if take a safety there.

ChicagoBearsVet23 03-10-2013 11:47 PM

Everyone picked after Faulk would be lightyears better for the Bears.

thebow305 03-11-2013 08:34 AM

Miami has ZERO need for a Defensive Tackle after tagging Randy Starks and re-signing Paul Soliai last season.

Therefore, Floyd is a terrible pick and Miami would be more likely to take Cordarrelle Patterson, Xavier Rhodes or even Tank Carradine at 12.

The rest of the draft is pretty solid though.

jrdrylie 03-11-2013 09:20 AM

Great Jacksonville draft. First round for the Bears is good, second round sucks. I would take Arthur Brown round one, so to pass on him in round two would get my blood boiling.

K Train 03-11-2013 10:24 AM

i approve of this steeler mock...although id prefer hunter, amerson, and hopkins over lacy in 2

wicket 03-11-2013 10:30 AM

star is a really good saints first rounder but reaching for someone in the third to play wideout is about as bad as a pick can be (well i guess you couldve gone runningback)

causticon 03-11-2013 11:34 AM

I just don't think Kyle Long is a 2rd round prospect. Way too raw at the moment.
