Zac Stacy - Criminally Underrated

I'm sorry...but Zac Stacy should be ranked amongst anybody's top-10 HB's in this draft and I'd bang the table (I hate the visual this implies...) for him to be ranked top 5. NFLDC has him ranked 30th? That is...a crime...and I'm notifying the authorities. Not sure what good that will do but at least the dispatcher will learn who Stacy is.

Personally, I like Stacy better than Bernard and even Lacy. You give Stacy Bama's O-line and the world would have come to an end. He will easily be amongst the best, most productive HB's to come out of this draft and it shocks me that there isn't more discussion about him. Zac Stacy...ladies and gentlemen...Zac Stacy

I wouldn't put him over Bernard, but top 5 yes!

CashmoneyDrew 03-17-2013 10:18 AM

He's way undervalued. I think he and Stepfan Taylor will be the top two backs from this class.

DoughBoy 03-17-2013 10:24 AM

Really isn't a downside to his game, he does everything well and a few things great. Scott's ranking of him is awful.

FUNBUNCHER 03-17-2013 01:49 PM

Would not be shocked if he ends up starting one day soon in the pros.
Pure sleeper prospect.

Not sure about Lacy's speed but other than him as a possible 1st rounder, this RB draft class is mediocre to say the least. So Stacy fits right in, nothing special but nothing really bad. His 3 cone was decent but his 40 time is slightly below average. He's a mid round pick, round 4-6 but RB's from the middle rounds have had some success so you cannot rule him out.

Black Bolt 03-17-2013 02:36 PM

Okay, I'll bite. Who the heck is Zack Stacy?

RB from Vanderbilt, and i agree, he's underrated. Could be the Alfred Morris of this RB class.

He's faster than Alfred Morris, he turned out ok.

Thing is, only Kenjon Barner, Giovani Bernard, Knile Davis, Michael Ford, Johnathan Franklin, Mike James, Onterio McCalebb, Christine Michael, and Kerwynn Williams had a better 40 time than Stacy at the combine.

Barner's was only .03 better, and Barner can't do what Stacy can do.

Knile Davis is a fumble waiting to happen.

Mike James' was only .02 better, and Stacy is a better back.

McCalebb is a 165 pound kick returner.

Michael's was only .01 better, has character and off field issues with multiple coaching staffs, and has lost his job 2 years in a row.

Williams is nowhere near the back that Stacy is.

Basically, Stacy is one of the cleanest RB prospects in this draft, along with being among the most talented. Michael Ford and Zac Stacy are the two most underrated backs in this draft.

A zone blocking team is going to be really happy to get him in the mid to late rounds. I also like Jordan Matthews from Vandy.

You just showed how mediocre this RB class is. It doesn't make Stacy anything special either. Ford is a good prospect who could be better at the next level but he was only a second stringer at LSU.

I wish he had declared.

Zac Stacy should be no worse than the 4th or 5th RB to come off the board is my point. I watched him carry the entire Kentucky defense into the endzone on his back. He runs hard between the tackles and has just enough speed to break some longer runs.

Regardless of how strong or weak the RB class is, Stacy belongs near the top.

Dennis Johnson is another one that's vastly underrated.

Caulibflower 03-17-2013 04:05 PM

I love Zac Stacy. I've probably posted about him more than any other back in this class. He'll be a starter.

SAGA45 11-03-2013 01:07 PM

Stacy has been impressive as a rookie so far this year

No way, man! Can't be with that 3-cone and 40 time. Just can't be!

VUBlacknGold 11-03-2013 08:35 PM

This was obvious, ive been saying hes like frank gore. Glad hes producing well, hope he has a nice, long career.

Zac Stacy is the truth.

He's Frank Gore without the knee problems. He can block, catch, got good shifty moves, hard to take down on first contact and can break a long one every once in awhile. Hes a great person and he'll be a great pro in a power scheme and I'd love it if the raiders got him in the 3rd.

BamaFalcon59 11-03-2013 09:33 PM

Seems like everybody knew Stacy would be good. Besides Scott.
