Top 10 RB Prospects (w/ Projected Teams)

Runningbacks 2013

1) Eddie Lacy - 1st - Bengals

2) Le'Veon Bell - 2nd - Jets
3) Montee Ball - 2nd - Broncos

4) Giovani Bernard - 3rd - Dolphins
5) Kenjon Barner - 3rd - Rams
6) Joseph Randle - 3rd - Packers

7) Johnathan Franklin - 4th - Falcons
8) Andre Ellington - 4th - Cowboys
9) Christine Michael - 4th - Steelers
10) Cierre Wood - 4th - Colts

Bernard and Miller are too similar in skill set.

Barner isn't much different from Pead and Richardson. He's overrated anyway.

I doubt the Saints draft a RB that early if at all.

Christine Michael would be a great Mendenhall replacement.

Cierre Wood is way underrated, so it's good to see him in someone's top 10.

Love Andre Ellington - I never see him get mentioned on here.

Agree on Bernard to Miami not making sense - They are full go on Lamar Miller and need a power back to complement him. Not a rb with similar skill set.

I don't see STL spending another high pick on RB. They got 2 young backs they believe in already on the roster.

Franklin falling to the 4th would be robbery.

Fisher likes to pound with bigger backs. Richardson and Pead aren't big enough.

Knile Davis straight disrepected.

Ball to the Broncos would be interesting

I think Franklin to Green Bay in the second round is a possibility.

Why would we draft a RB when we have 5 on the roster? Ingram, Sproles, Cadet, Ivory, Pierre Thomas...

AcheTen (Thumper) 03-21-2013 10:01 AM

Why would the Bengals waste a first round pick on a RB?

Especially when they have a perfectly good one on the roster already?

Lawfirm was less than impressive for the WHOLE year and eventually you have to find a complement/future RB for the team. The coaching staff has pretty much given up on Bernard Scott it seems.

christine michael is too much of an asshole for the steelers to look at him.

Bernard is the best fit for them, i like stepfan taylor too

But why waste a first round pick on such an unimportant position that can so easily be filled by later-round picks and/or free agents?

You can win a Super Bowl with Benjarvus Green Ellis as your RB. Yes you can. And one of the reasons you can do it with BJGE is because you spent a first round pick on a stud DE/DT/OT/CB instead of on a RB, and your team is that much better for it.

With the new rule for physical running backs hitting with the crown of the helmet I think the need for that type of back is lower than it already was before.

bitonti 03-21-2013 11:50 AM

the Jets probably aren't going RB in the 2nd. too many other holes.

I love the Lacy to CIN projection. It's a totally Bengals thing to do.

Doubt it, they can still lower their shoulder.

Law firm actually played really well last year.
