Who is this years unlikely 1st round pick

Last year there was Bruce Irvin and AJ Jenkins, who do you think it could be this year?

I see Jones in plenty of mocks for the first round so he wouldn't be a guy where I'd say wow if I heard his name called.

There's plenty of talk about a big run on offensive tackles in the first round, and Terron Armstead is one name I could see creep up into round one.

Well, he's definitely not in a majority of mocks, so I think it would still be a surprise. Armstead would be a bigger surprise; however, there is already buzz that it might happen. Another surpise might be Reed of LSU.

Kyle Long. I think someone falls in love with the bloodlines.

Kyle is not built in the same character mold as the other Long's, but he is a hell of an athlete. Hopefully he has grown up some because he has scary potential.

MI_Buckeye 04-01-2013 10:36 AM

How about Jamie Collins, Gavin Escobar, Khaseem Greene, Robert Alford or Blidi Wreh-Wilson?

bucfan12 04-01-2013 11:02 AM

Jonathon cyprian and Ryan nassib.

I'm going with the first a Kicker drafting in the first round!

SuperPacker 04-01-2013 11:11 AM

Johnathan Franklin, Markus Wheaton and Gavin Escobar.

He was the second person I thought of, but when I looked at the teams picking late in the first, I didn't see a natural fit.

I wouldn't mind him in the 2nd round at all if his character concerns check out well.

I just have a feeling that someone will gamble on him in the 1st bc of his measurables and bloodlines.

I think his age is not as big of a concern as people think. OLmen can play into their mid 30s.

Now this is a good one. I can easily see a couple of teams having him rated much higher than the majority. The guy is an action figure.

bigbluedefense 04-01-2013 11:23 AM

Isn't Jamie Collins considered a 1st round pick?

I've talked to some coaches at Oregon, and he's really grown up since he's been at FSU from what i've gotten. Has been nothing but a hard worker here apparently.

Hopefully he's really grown up after his stint at Saddleback College too...

I'm not really familiar with Kyle Long's problems.

Can someone summarize all the things he's done?

He had some substance problems back at Florida st. but he seems perfectly fine now. My take is he struggled early on dealing with expectations and being Howie's son.

On a side note he'd be a saint here in Seattle compared to some of the characters they've brought in.

'Bout sums it up.

*Edit-Babylon-The substance problems continued in Junior College. No idea if he kept it up in Oregon though. Has nothing to do with his Dad either, Kyle is just a bad apple.
