Undervalued Players by the Media

Who are some players you guys think are undervalued by the analyst/media/draft websites and will be drafted much higher than where they estimate them to be taken.

Who will hear their name called much sooner than the media expects?

OG's don't tend to get drafted before the middle of round 1, but Chance Warmack and Jonathan Cooper are elite talents that could end that trend, they are among the top 5 talents in this year's draft and are sure fire future Pro Bowl players. It will be very interesting to see how long they last.

Cornelius Washington
Jordan Hill
Kyle Long (although his stock is soaring) can play Left Tackle and will skyrocket on draft day
Pugh
Gerald Hodges
John Panteli
The DE from Princeton. He's actually pretty good.

BearTooth 04-17-2013 01:30 PM

Markus Wheaton, AJ Klein, Matt Scott, David Quessenberry.

San Diego Chicken 04-17-2013 02:46 PM

John Franklin. He's the most complete back in this class, but Mayock doesn't have him in his top 5.

Cooper Taylor - no one is talking about him besides me and Babylon

Caulibflower 04-17-2013 05:13 PM

Jonathan Cooper and Markus Wheaton are a couple of guys who I expect to be big time contributors, but aren't getting talked about much at all.

I've got Cooper Taylor as a 5th rounder in my mock draft. Huge Size, Fast speed. He has all the measurables, no way this guy goes undrafted out of Richmond.

I've got a couple others off the top of my head....Josh Evans S from Florida, Rogers Gaines OT(36 inch arms) 5.24 40 for a guy that big, and LB Jake Knott Iowa State. He gets overshadowed by Klein but Knott is a tackling machine in his own right.

I think Rambo is actually a little overrated by many some in the media and almost alot of draftniks

Read any Gil Brandt articles lately?

Lol

I don't know if I really see any of them getting drafted way higher than they are projected, I think they could turn out to be decent players though

Actually no I haven't. Evans is a beast against the run and pass. Gaines is one of those surprise tackles that can go in round 4 based on measurables like the Holmes kid from Southern Miss last year. Knott and Klein are basically the same player but the only one you hear about is Klein.

I too am fascinated by the guards. DeCastro was so solid and slipped to 2 with some sketchy players taken above him. I don't know.

I had been thinking both guards (or at least one), would be available to the Giants at No. 19 but Schefter said they'd both be gone by 15.

I just can't see Tennessee using No. 10 on a guard/center. Or 11 either. It's one of the most difficult things to predict right now.

I don't think we will unless all the rest of the value on the board is gone.

Munch just doesn't select linemen in the first round, that may change this year, but I really doubt it

Just wondered since you pretty much quoted him on Gaines

But how would you define that?

The top nine picks are going to include:

1) Joeckel
2) Floyd
3) Fisher
4) L. Johnson
5) Jordan
6) Ansah

7) Probably Milliner (still a chance he takes an Amukamaraish fall - not that far, but one that surprises us).

Then there's G. Smith, Mingo, Austin, Star and Richardson...

What permutation leaves Warmack as the best value... I don't see it.

Matthew Jones 04-17-2013 11:44 PM

At this point, maybe Eddie Lacy, Cordarrelle Patterson, Markus Wheaton, Cornellius Carradine, Kawann Short, Alec Ogletree, Blidi Wreh-Wilson, Johnathan Cyprien.

He's gonna be a stud.

I've yet to see him mocked before the 3rd round. If he's overrated, does that mean you think he should be a late rounder?

y.f.s. 04-18-2013 11:09 AM

DeVonte Holloman, AJ Francis, Josh Evans, Zac Dysert, Rex Burkhead, Mychal Rivera, David Bhaktiari

For the most part I've seen him as a 2-3rd rounder. I think he'll end up being closer to a 4th-5th rounder unless someone just falls in love with him.

Speaking on his pre-draft conference call, NFL Network's Mike Mayock said he doesn't think a cornerback will be picked in the top ten.
Alabama's Dee Milliner has been the only name floated as a top-ten pick in mock drafts, possibly as high as No. 2 to the Jaguars or No. 6 to the Browns. NFL teams are not as high on Milliner as the draftnik community. The Dolphins hold the 12th pick and are said to be "very high" on Milliner. It's a legitimate possibility that he will still be available there. Meanwhile, Mayock has vaulted Houston's D.J. Hayden ahead of Milliner as his No. 1 corner in the draft.
