Draft Rumors [Credibility Optional]

As we are in the midst of the smokescreen and blatant lying season of the NFL Draft I thought it would be nice to start compiling the Rumors we here without worrying to much about the source.

A couple of Bears one

Hub Arkush, who is an idiot, said that Eifert is the target and if he is there he is the pick.

Zach Ertz also mentioned as a target.

A rumor I have started is the Vikings are looking to trade picks this year for future firsts in order to improve their chances of winning the Jadaveon Clowney sweepstakes.

I think this is a pretty good strategy for any GM who has the right amount of job security.

Kenny Still is considering filing a sex discrimination lawsuit against those NFL teams that have questioned him outright about his sexuality.

With the Bear offensive line signings this off season i would be fairly surprised it they didn't go for one of the TEs.

Seattle i heard has some interest in Mike Catapano. (will believe it when i see it)

Add Jets to the list of teams looking to move down, and Jaguars, in fact just add all of the teams in the top 10 to the list.

I had not heard the Chargers would be looking to move up, don't they have a million needs and not enough draft picks? I think if anyone is moving into the top 5 to get one of the premier OTs its Miami not San Diego.

I can definitely see the Falcons pulling off another trade up. The Julio Jones one worked out so well, they might do something similar this year.

Maybe going into the top 10 for someone like Ezekiel Ansah if he falls, or Dee Milliner.

That would make a lot of sense, I don't think they'd have to give up anywhere near what they gave up in the Julio Jones deal either. 1st, 2nd, and maybe a 2014 mid-rounder would be enough to get into the 7-10 range probably. Don't see them giving up a 2014 1st, considering its a buyers market for teams that want to trade up.

I would happily trade #12 to the Falcons for 2013 first rounder, 2013 2nd rounder and 2014 first rounder. Then take Carradine, Hayden, Trufant or Eifert. Whichever is available :)

RaiderNation 04-20-2013 11:35 AM

Read on twitter today the Raiders are considering taking a LT at 3. Probably a way to get more offers to try and trade up but I wouldn't be disappointed with Fisher/Joeckel on the team...

The Vikings are purportedly going to try and trade up and nab a receiver early.

SMOKESCREEN!

Maybe I am wrong but I just don't see WR being a trade up target. CB is more likely I think.

Bucs/Jets will not execute a draft day trade. If it does not happen early this week before the draft, it will not happen over the weekend due to Bucs brass would want to get Revis in for a full evaluation and watch him workout. Also need to have an agreed extension in place. So far, none of those terms have been agreed to. Heck the compensation has been a hinder.

All reports indicate that the impending Revis contract with the Bucs is in place, and the compensation hang-up is allegedly minimal, i.e. the additional picks, not the 1st round pick. The only thing I agree with you on is that the trade will happen before the draft.

The Panthers are reportedly targeting Austin at 14, and Vaccaro if he's gone.

Mufasa 04-20-2013 01:41 PM

The Jets are attempting to move into the top 3 to draft Geno Smith before the Eagles would at 4

Pretty sure he's trolling lol...

The Packers are looking very closely at WRs in the second round range (not a rumor, just common sense based on their current roster and their draft history).

That's weird. I had a dream last night that the Jets traded up to #2 and drafted Geno Smith because they thought the Raiders were going to pick him.

About a week ago or two ago, I had a dream that the Chiefs threw everybody for a loop and drafted Geno Smith.

vidae has this same dream every night I'm pretty sure.

SuperPacker 04-20-2013 02:52 PM

Or a dream where the Chiefs don't trade for Alex Smith.

I agree with you here RN, the more I think of it, the more I kind of want it. Should go defense but you can't go wrong with a 10+ year LT on the team.
