Christian Jones - I'm excited to see what he does in our new defense that focuses more on attacking and bringing pass rush. Stoops was in love with the idea of him chasing down TE's 30 yds down the field way too much. His athleticism has been way under utilized so far in his career at FSU because of Stoops' defensive schemes.

Van Noy might be the first BYU player I've ever been excited about.

From my early evaluation of players, McCullers and Kareem Martin need to take significant steps to warrant first round consideration and there's not much that gets me excited about those players.

I'm just getting into the senior corners and I wanna see what Justin Gilbert has. Jason Verrett and Marcus Williams are two of my favorites I've watched at the position so far.

I'd have USC's Morgan Breslin in the top five as far as seniors go.

When i watch Breslin play, he reminds me a lot of John Simon from this year's draft.

He did have 13 sacks in 13 games. No offense to Simon but he doesn't have that kind of production, or speed either.

Simon was very productive at Ohio State and despite battling a knee injury this past year, he registered 14.5 tackles for loss, 9 of which were sacks. He also run a 4.62 forty, which is probably right in the range that Breslin runs.

McCullers!

tjsunstein 05-09-2013 09:50 PM

Jackson Jeffcoat is too high for me but it seems like the preliminary senior lists are never pretty.

Scott Wright 05-09-2013 11:01 PM

Keep in mind that these are seniors only.

Other than the guys at the very top most on the list will eventually drop 20+ spots in the overall rankings. So guys like Jeffcoat, McCullers, etc. are more fringe first round types.

CashmoneyDrew 05-09-2013 11:12 PM

I think McCullers has a decent chance to rise this year. He'll have a legit coordinator helping him out this year, unlike last. Plus his skills and experience are better suited for a 4-3.

i honestly like zach martin over a few of these guys, its good that ND doesnt lose anymore significant seniors besides him. gonna blow that both nix and tuitt are very likely going pro though

Damn only one QB and it's Boyd?Question will he play in the senior bowl next fall.

Leon Sandcastle 05-10-2013 12:06 PM

Good year for CB's, LB's & LT's? Bills could use help in each department.

Extremely lacking any depth in the senior class after so many juniors declared last draft. This draft will depend almost totally on the junior class to save it from mediocrity.

niel89 05-10-2013 02:09 PM

As with every preseason list, over half these guys will disappear and guys will come out of no where. Ziggy Ansah wasn't even a starter and went top 5.

I love that you think this can be answered.

This is like the 3rd year in a row you've stated this and there's not really a point in bringing it up. There will be 2 rounds worth of underclassmen that will declare and give the draft depth. It happens literally every year.

Eh, couldn't put Barr over Van Noy personally, but like you said, it's extremely early.

Robcards 05-11-2013 11:34 AM

Really haven't been impressed with Kareem Martin tbh, I expect his stock to fall this year unless he shows some serious improvement.

thebow305 05-11-2013 11:57 AM

Stephen Morris should be on this list, as should Seantrel Henderson. :)

Of the ones we know of i'd have Van Noy somewhere behind Barr, Mosley and Breslin.

It's gotta be a big projection and going off the school's recent reputation for producing defensive players.

Chaz Sutton is the senior defensive end prospect I feel will make a huge rise over this next season.

Wootylicous 05-11-2013 12:33 PM

I think Barr will be a ******* stud in the NFL.

4U2NV 05-11-2013 10:27 PM

Love me some Tajh Boyd.
