forrealdoe i am cautiously optimistic with a line of gilbert, foster, pouncey, decastro, adams

it has the potential to not suck

SCSteeler 05-21-2013 01:00 PM

Heres to hoping the rookies come in and make a big splash!!!

SCSteeler 05-21-2013 06:16 PM

The athleticism in the Steelers’ new offensive line is obvious, even in Foster, who ended last season at 350 pounds but who not only has been working out rigorously since then but has halted his intake of alcohol and sugar. Foster’s appearance may have changed more drastically than any of the returning Steelers this spring.

“I am really fit,” he said. “I changed a lot of stuff around. My body fat is a whole lot better. I’m running better. I’ve been stressing to become more athletic. I don’t want to be a weak link of any type on this offensive line. I’m an older guy who’s starting right now and I’ve got to be a leader on the field and off the field.”

Sounds like JJones and THawthorne are bugged by small injuries? Jones with a hamstring and Hawthorne with a wrapped knee.

SCSteeler 05-22-2013 08:41 PM

Depot is saying Hawthorne had bone chips removed. Maybe not that serious, just time to heal.
But what about JJones hammy? I know hamstrings can bug a player all year...what do we know about his injury?

SCSteeler 05-27-2013 01:09 PM

Is there any difficulty in switching OL schemes? We always hear about adjustment periods when talking about defenses switching up, but what affect does an OL switch have on an offense?

SCSteeler 06-02-2013 08:34 PM

Trying not to over post but you guys are giving this page the silent treatment lately!
I've been hearing that Dwyer showed up to OTAs and "appeared to be overweight", but no ones confirming anything!
What do you guys hear?

mikehop05 06-03-2013 07:26 AM

cant remember anything about dwyer...i remember hearing redman had dropped some good pounds

gai getting poly's reps at ss

udfa reggie dunn may make the team as a returner - runs 4.22

been pretty impressed with ben's attitude the last couple of years and especially recently

K Train 06-03-2013 07:09 PM

Jones signed :-) <3

AcheTen (Thumper) 06-04-2013 10:07 AM

Do you guys think Jones will be starting from day 1 @ OLB?

mikehop05 06-04-2013 10:33 AM

i do not - in fact i think worilds is not only going to keep his spot but make himself a decent amount of money this year with his performance

K Train 06-04-2013 01:02 PM

Id be surprised if jones starts even 1 game

Id be more surprised if worilds is anything more than a disappointment though

mikehop05 06-04-2013 01:49 PM

eh worilds had like 5 sacks last year in like 3 starst and about half the amount of snaps our starters get all while not 100% healthy (wrist)

not saying that means he will def get double that amount, etc., but it shows that when given the opportunity he didn't totally suck

btw harrison led our team in sacks last year with 6

Hines 06-05-2013 07:36 AM

Don't sleep on Adrien Robinson.

AcheTen (Thumper) 06-05-2013 02:12 PM

I don't like Worilds all that much.

Robinson was a BEAST at Temple though. I could easily see him breaking out as one of those under-the-radar players.

Criminalz

PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that a rapper who once appeared in a video for Wiz Khalifa’s song “Black and Yellow” has been arrested in connection with Sunday morning stabbing of Steelers offensive lineman Mike Adams.

Dquay Means, who goes by the name “Quay Meanz,” is a fledgling artist on Wiz Khalifa’s record label. He was arrested on Tuesday night along with a man named Michael Paranay. Both men are facing charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault and conspiracy. A third suspect is still being sought.

A police report says Adams left Cambod-Ican Kitchen restaurant just before 3 a.m. Sunday morning when three men approached him. Adams says Paranay told him his black Ford F-150 Raptor was a nice truck and Means said, “Gimme your car.”

After a verbal altercation, Paranay allegedly punched Adams in the face and the unidentified suspect stabbed him in the abdomen and right forearm. Paranay was tied to the crime when police found a cell phone at the scene.

Adams apparently identified both Paranay and Means through photos.

Means does have a criminal record, including convictions for receiving stolen property, drug possession, fleeing police and disorderly conduct.

A representative for Wiz Khalifa did not respond to a request for comment.

They moved Sylvester outside permanently. Does that mean he's competing for a spot with Robinson and Carter now?

mikehop05 06-13-2013 07:39 AM

thats a bummer, i always thought he'd be a better fit inside

K Train 06-13-2013 08:09 AM

outside is a weird spot for him.
