No man it's Oakland that would draft Clowney 1st overall not Jacksonville.

Kyle472 05-26-2013 06:10 AM

Zero chance the Bears would pass on Matthews.

Kyle472 05-26-2013 06:12 AM

No Stephon Tuitt?

I guess it is official that we are taking Barr in the top 10 according to everyone on here. I wouldn't be opposed to it, and taking defensive playmakers is never a bad idea.

I noticed 3 Seminoles in the 1st but the most surprising was the one you put the highest and that is KB. His measurables and speed to go with them will make scouts drool, but to go #12 would mean he put up a huge season. That would be awesome for FSU lol.

isnt KB also like 25 at this point?

I'm not sure New England will draft another wide receiver. If you think about how the Patriots use their personnel, the most common formation is the "Ace" formation (1RB/2WR/2TE.) Right now, that personnel is projected to be composed of Stevan Ridley at RB, Danny Amendola/Aaron Dobson at WR, and Rob Gronkowski/Aaron Hernandez at TE. So, to get a wide receiver onto the field, you'd have to remove one of the guys there. When the Patriots go to a three-wide formation (maybe in an empty set, or due to injury), they have some options (Julian Edelman, Josh Boyce, etc.)

New England is a deep, well-rounded team, so they may be able to take the best player available approach, which could be a wide receiver, but I think the most likely "need" area will be upgrading at one of the following positions:

RG - Dan Connolly, Marcus Cannon
LE - Rob Ninkovich, Jake Bequette, Michael Buchanan
DT - Tommy Kelly, Armond Armstead

We haven't seen much of Cannon or Bequette, and we haven't seen any of Buchanan or Armstead, so it's difficult to evaluate at this point.

Good ATL pick

Babylon 05-26-2013 12:40 PM

Johnny Manziel and Marcus Mariota before Tajh Boyd, throw in Bret Hundley too.

Great Chiefs pick, good Chiefs slot.

It's a bit unrealistic.

Unless Ponder fails miserably next season and Cassel finishes the season as starter, I see no way the Vikings take a QB round 1.

I clearly forgot about Cassel. What position/player could the Vikings possibly target in the Top 10?

I expect big big things from him this year.

Wait.....what difference does Cassel make? Ponder has sucked, Cassel sucks; if the Vikings are picking at #8 and like a QB, there's nothing wrong with that pick.

I was kind of being sarcastic. I think QB would be the biggest need if they fall in the Top 10 as I project.

DE (JA and Robison are scheduled to be free agents next year)
LB

Would all be better picks in that spot. Even if Ponder has a sub-par season, I don't see the Vikings taking a QB in the 1st round. Rick Speilman and Frazier have both stated that they are committed to Ponder as the starting QB. Ponder would have to suck major nuts for the vikings to be picking that high in next years draft...

With all the talent around Ponder this year, he should have a great year. Jennings and Patterson added to the receiving corps, Simpson back from injury, Jarius Wright will continue to improve, and Rudolph should have a break out year. If the Vikings pick that high, something is really wrong with Ponder. Ponder was up and down last year, but you also have to keep in mind that he started to improve towards the end of the season even when Harvin was out with injury. If anything, the Vikings offense has improved and Ponder should not having a problem taking that next step.

So they would pass on a potential top 5 pick for a nothing special CB?

Hundley shouldn't come out after his RS sophomore season. LOL, you really don't like Tajh Boyd!! Doesn't mean he isn't a top pro prospect entering the '14 draft.:cj:

Ponder is a trap QB. The sooner the Vikes FO realizes this and upgrades the position, they better Minny will be. Anyone thinking he's going to suddenly become a difference maker at QB is wishing on rainbows.

ChicagoBearsVet23 05-28-2013 01:55 PM

Bears won't be picking that high and we wouldn't pass on Mathews

CJSchneider 05-29-2013 10:07 AM

Nice pick for NO.
