Jim Kelly Has Cancer

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...rial&hpt=hp_t2

Hopefully he recovers fully. An underappreciated player during his era.

Ness 06-03-2013 10:34 AM

Apparently his chances of making a full recovery are good. Hopefully he gets through this.

Thoughts/prayers with him and his family.

I'm sure that helps.

In other news, cancer really sucks. I with mr. Kelly and his family the best of luck beating that **** down.

Did somebody piss in your corn flakes?

Oh, and while you are evolving a third eye or something try developing a personality while you're at it....

There must be a history there because that sounded pretty harmless to me.

I always thought Kelly sort of got lost in the whole Elway/Marino generation there. Jim Kelly was about as solid a QB as there ever was. I think his reputation gets slighlty tarnished because of a 40 yd. missed FG.

TitanHope 06-03-2013 01:11 PM

Everything seems harmless compared to Vietnam, Babs.

San Diego Chicken 06-03-2013 01:20 PM

Poor guy has had bad luck with health in his family. Son died of a rare disease a while ago. Hang in there Jim.

That's what he needed. WISHES! Not prayers. :njx:

SuperMcGee 06-03-2013 01:29 PM

Really awful news. His family has been through a lot and he is a great guy that has been very charitable and loyal to the area. Hoping for all the best.

It always amazed me how many QBs from that era went on to have screwed up (medically) children. There was Kelly, Boomer Esiason, Doug Flutie, and I think at least one other.

bigbluedefense 06-03-2013 02:25 PM

Healthy children are a blessing. Don't take it for granted.

Thankfully we have a healthy 4 year old son, so I know that. Still, it seems strange that 3 contemporary QBs would have children with rare medical issues.

BallerT1215 06-03-2013 02:50 PM

Jim is a fighter and there is no doubt in my mind, he'll beat this ****** disease.

Best wishes Jim.

You are so much smarter than him. Good job.

Doesn't one of Marino's sons have Autism?

Almost all of us probably have grandparents who had siblings that didn't make it to adulthood. The amazing thing is that childhood mortality has dropped so much in the past few generations.

FootballFreak 06-19-2013 09:25 PM

He will beat this disease! He's a fighter!

CJSchneider 06-19-2013 10:31 PM

My prayers go out to the Kelly family.

Ness 03-26-2014 02:01 PM

Damn. Sucks to see him like this.

Come on Jim pull through!

bigbluedefense 03-26-2014 02:02 PM
