Report: 10-Year-Old Quarterback Defeats NFL Veteran In Throwing Competition

10-Year Old Gets Best of Matt Hasselbeck

Quote:

According to this post and some further research, it appears that young Daron Bryden defeated Indianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Hasselbeck in an accuracy competition last summer for a television show that was suppose to air on CBS, but never did.

Bryden, who was 10 at the time, competed against Hasselbeck in Los Angeles. The two had to throw the ball through five different hoops, first in sequential order from one to five (the points earned were one for the first hoop, two for the second hoop, and so on), and then could throw at any hoop once they completed the first five. During the 60-second competition, Daron scored 33 points, while Hasselbeck only scored 31.
More in the link.

It's temporarily down. I will let everybody know when it's back up.

Some bs about the way I worded something. They are being really picky about something extremely minor that I had said before they removed that I would change, but they decided just to straight delete it instead. Absolutely ridiculous and frustrating.

Is there any source?

you just want to tell us, instead of clicking the link?

You're supposed to let little kids win

Of course the ten year old won. What NFL quarterback wants to be known for beating a ten year old in a throwing competition?

Sorry for the delay in updating it, but it's updated. Kept arguing with Bleacher Report about putting it up over there, but they refused to. Kind of ridiculous their reasoning and arguments, but they wouldn't back down.

I've reached out to the CBS producer via telephone to try and further confirm the story. He hasn't gotten back to me. I had an email forwarded to me regarding the story and the shooting of it that helps to confirm the story. I'm considering blacking out the names and posting that.

I would really like to get my hands on the video. Apparently they've been very difficult in regards to that.

And USC just offered the kid.

He has already attended camps with Temple and UMass. Planning on going to a UConn camp as well according to my knowledge.

Seems like a real ***** move for CBS not to release the footage now that the information has gone public. Imagine all the teasing this kid took when he said he beat an NFL QB without any proof.

I continue to try and call the producer and get in touch with them in order to get the footage. Still nothing.

If you want to see the footage, I guess just hope Deadspin or somebody gets a hold of the story and it picks up some steam. Then they will probably get some pressure to release it.

Kids heads gonna be so big he's gonna be twice as likely to get a concussion

UPDATE: Talking with somebody that worked in the production of the show, we have learned some new details:

- The show was shot by Zodiak USA, a Los Angeles based production company
- The show was indeed called "Top Gun," though various titles were being talked about, including "Kids Do The Darnedest Things."
- This individual wasn't sure why it never aired.

The important thing regarding this is that is further evidence that this did actually occur.

I'm currently in talks with Zodiak to get the footage. We will see how these talks progress.

People enjoy hearing about this stuff all the time. Not sure what the problem is. If you don't like it, don't read it...

This kid is a stud! Heres the link about him at Temple Camp!

And a friend of mine told me he was invited to participate at the UMass High School Football Camp as a 5th grader recently!
