2014 Tennessee Titans Discusion

With the opening of training camp, I thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread so we can speak about this years Titans.

(Hopefully this can replace the other sticky)

Any training camp news?

Hopefully someone can update me, and anyone else on practice as it will be streaming live through mobile, but apparently not online through their website

John Abraham has officially signed with Cardinals. 2 year contract, no specified money at this moment

Yay!???!?!?

Great news, I worried about how he'd look with all the competition but it sounds like he's doing fine.

CashmoneyDrew 07-25-2013 07:26 PM

Remember the days of Roydell Williams, Brandon Jones, Courtney Roby, Justin McCareins, etc.?

Now we have Britt, Hunter, Wright, Washington, Williams, Walter, Mariani...

Oh, the miles we've traveled.

We've come a long way, now I see Fisher stocking up on weapons and I'm just like "where was that when you were here?"

The Titans opened training camp with Ropati Pitoitua as their starting left end, and Derrick Morgan on the right side.
The Titans appear to be borrowing concepts from the Seahawks, using 6-foot-8, 315-pound Pitoitua as their Red Bryant and Kam Wimbley in the Bruce Irvin role. Morgan will be the Chris Clemons, and Sammie Lee Hill the Brandon Mebane. Jurell Casey is the three-technique tackle. The idea is to limit Wimbley's snaps, keeping his legs fresh, and utilize Pitoitua as an early-down run plugger. Jul 25 - 9:05 PM
So ready for the season!

The more I hear Bernard Pollard the more and more I'm glad we went ahead and signed him. I know he's not the best most versatile SS in the game, but he'll lay the hammer down, act as a leader and make guys accountable, that's what we've needed for years on defense.

From what I've seen Shonn Greene looks pretty good, kind of like a young Michael Turner.

Of course, we'll see more with pads and in preseason games

Where is the best location to get daily updates from camp??!! I know some teams like the bears and broncos have a new thread daily for camp tweets and news articles on their forum, but it's almost impossible to find anything for the titans. Is there another forum besides gotitans? I hate not getting updates from multiple sources on camp news

mightytitan9 07-26-2013 11:01 PM

"I'm gonna tryin get Michelle come out here and put some pads on, and thats number 33 if y'all don't know"

Gotta love Bernard Pollards nickname for Griffin.

I haven't really found anything yet

CashmoneyDrew 07-26-2013 11:07 PM

Jim Wyatt is probably your best bet for now. On twitter or wherever.

mightytitan9 07-27-2013 12:29 AM

That's what I was thinking too. Unless you catch one of the 20 seconds they talk about the Titans each week on NFLN

mightytitan9 07-27-2013 07:58 PM

If Philly called us up and offered a reasonable pick for Nate, would you trade him or not? Reasonable pick I'd say is 5th round

CashmoneyDrew 07-28-2013 09:42 PM

Chance Warmack, get your fat ass in camp right meow!

He should get around 12.5m, let's just sign him and get it finished. Milliner and he are the only two remaining unsigned

RufusMcDaniel 07-28-2013 10:06 PM

Clearly, the sticking point is whether or not he can have his gut hang out.

Expect a long negotiation.

mightytitan9 07-28-2013 10:07 PM

Actually, just saw Milliner signed which you probably already knew Cash

Pit Bull #53 07-29-2013 01:14 PM

Warmack now signed according to Schefty's twitter.

About time!

During his five-year pro career, the Titans are 24-9 in games when he (Johnson) rushed for 100 or more yards and 18-30 when he didn't. The record jumps to 7-1 when he hits 150 yards.
So get the man his 100 yards!

Kam Wimbley looked fantastic. Coming off the ball fast and showing some smooth moves to beat the offensive lineman. As the season went on last year he got more comfortable with his hand down and he sure seems comfortable now. I believe I said this before but Derrick Morgan is noticeably leaner and looks a bit more explosive.

In team drills, the defensive linemen rotated around quite a bit. We did get to see Karl Klug line up at defensive end and on both sides of the line. I thought he did okay and he had some good moments. Still, if he is going to be successful at the end spot he has to get a better burst off the line. He isn't getting off the ball quick enough.
Sounds good, ready to see some preseason!

CashmoneyDrew 07-30-2013 11:14 AM

Yeah, I heard Kam was looking good, but I also heard it was mostly against 2nd and 3rd string linemen. So I'm still a little skeptical.

mightytitan9 07-30-2013 11:20 AM

I've been thinking all offseason he should do much better having been prepared for the DE position, hopefully I am right but will hold onto judgement until later. I think simply being in rotation and getting some rest will do wonders for him though

mightytitan9 08-01-2013 12:25 PM

What a dumb article, but thought I'd share so everyone else could agree. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...doomed-in-2013
