How much longer before Oakland and SD give up on McFadden and Matthews
How much luxury are they going to give these two oft injured players, before they start to find a replacement. Matthews and McFadden have been decent when healthy, but when will these teams start finding a backup plan or have they already? Such as the Raiders picking Murray.

As soon as the value is there, they will.

With RBBC now it's a matter of pay. They aren't going to pay them to be #1 backs when they can't stay healthy, but they can pair them with backs and run two back systems and it will be fine.

McFadden is in the last year of his contract, and I'm not sure if he'll be back or not either way unless he just blows up.

Mathews has two more years on his contract, and barring an absolutely horrible season I expect him to play both of those.

Let's not act like a 6th round RB is really supposed to be a message to McFadden when they had no depth.

Probably pretty soon. Both guys just can't stay on the field. McFadden is a special runner at least. Matthews was vastly overdrafted at #12.

Gerhart > Matthews in college, as prospects, and in the nfl after Toby can get out from under Peterson.

If McFadden has a huge season, or just a good one, I think he's definitely getting out of Oakland anyways.

def. make or break years for both of them.
