NFL Trade Block Thread

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/96...ns-source-says

By Adam Schefter | ESPN

Detroit Lions running back Mikel Leshoure would welcome a trade to a team that would rely on him more, a source told ESPN.

Leshoure was inactive in last week's season opener despite averaging 4.5 yards per carry this preseason. The former second-round draft pick currently is Detroit's third-string running back behind Reggie Bush and Joique Bell.

The Lions are a pass-oriented team, and although Leshoure can catch the ball out of the backfield, he would prefer to be on a team that runs the ball more often, according to the source.

Leshoure, who has accepted his role as a backup with the Lions, rushed for 798 yards and nine touchdowns as a rookie last season.

One possible destination for the 23-year-old Leshoure is the Indianapolis Colts, who lost Week 1 starter Vick Ballard to a season-ending knee injury. Colts owner Jim Irsay recently indicated on his Twitter account that Indianapolis will attempt to add a running back before the NFL's trade deadline.

Kenny Britt is possibly on the move, Baltimore a potential landing spot.

It was a spam bot trying to hit the 10 posts.

Not sure why the Pats would want the baggage that would come with Gordon and Britt. Nicks I could see if the price were right.

Don Vito 09-23-2013 04:47 PM

I think we will concede that we can't fix gangbangers, but maybe we could handle a receiver who loves weed.

Babylon 09-23-2013 05:53 PM

I'll admit to not knowing the whole situation with Gordon. As for Britt he just doesn't seem to give a **** about football.

Caulibflower 09-23-2013 06:52 PM

I don't think he's actually available, but his name's been thrown around before - what would you fans of receiver-needy teams give up for Doug Baldwin? The Seahawks had several inquiries as to his trade status earlier in the year, but I don't think I ever heard anything as to what level of compensation teams were offering.

shylo3716 09-24-2013 05:06 PM

With Burleson out now could the Lions be in play for 1 of the WRs that have been rumored to be on the block? After all they still have Leshoure who wants to be moved.

JordanTaber 09-24-2013 07:47 PM

Nobody cares that he averaged 4.5 yards/carry this preseason. That's a microstatistic. Nothing to get excited about.

New England should make a minor trade with Detroit and bring in Tony Scheffler.

Brothgar 09-25-2013 12:12 AM

That's not happening anytime this century.

Meh already a 1 time loser to the substance abuse policy next offense is a 6 game suspension. That lowers his value quite a bit. It may cost an extra 4th but not much more than that.

yo123 09-25-2013 01:48 AM

Then there's the whole thing where Leshoure has done absolutely nothing to prove that he doesn't suck.

They're much better off eating a year with Gordon than making that deal. The irony is that you can hit on backs better than Leshoure with that fourth round pick you're trying to throw in. It's much, much harder to find receivers like Gordon. He's an asset. A third-rate runningback with an injury history that can't even crack the active roster on a fairly bad rushing team is not.

Total pipe dream. The Browns are looking at a second round pick plus something else for Gordon if they even want to move him. The Lions would be lucky to get much of anything for Leshoure.

If they took on the baggage that was Talib and gave a murderer a 40+ million dollar contract they'll take a chance on a guy puffing a little reefer

cgf (Rosebud) 10-04-2013 04:56 PM

Dude, to get suspended as a rookie in the nfl you've gotta be smoking a lot more than "a little reefer". You've pretty much gotta be blazing during your drug test.

Not only are you late to the party, but you're at the wrong party.
