I think the cool thing to do these days is to throw it all away.

Eazy Picks 10-09-2013 04:52 PM

well hes already doing the right thing cuz hes in rehab...There may be some league suspension that comes down, which he will have to serve, but the good news is he voluntarily checked himself into rehab and is doing the right things to get his life in order...As for the legal reprocussions for what he has already done, he will have to man up and deal with it, but if he gets his problems cleared up, which at least appears willing and committed to doing, than he will be able to get back on the field at some point and go back to being a ultra-productive pass-rusher....

crazy though cuz after 2 years Von Miller and Aldon Smith were looking like maybe the best duo of pass-rushers to ever go in the same draft (5 picks away from eachother), and now both of their careers are in question and not because of injuries but their own lack of self control.

Ness 10-09-2013 04:53 PM

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kind of funny though.

Ness 10-09-2013 04:55 PM

If convicted he'll be in jail for a long while. Nice knowing you Aldon. Tell OJ I said hey.

WCH 10-09-2013 05:01 PM

Apparently he's facing up to four years and four months in prison.

I can't even feel sorry for him, because you can't just get drunk and start firing shots into the air. You could kill somebody.

Ness 10-09-2013 05:03 PM

Well if the charges are dropped, at least it will make it easier to resign him. Again, that is if he is around.

He said up to...up to doesn't imply that's what he's getting.

Ness, change your avatar, it's way too distracting.

This is what I was going to post. I can't remember what the thread was about.

Aldon Smith-something-something

J-Mike88 10-09-2013 09:33 PM

He'll be fine.
Too good and important to the Niners for them to lose him.... other than the rehab, and one suspension from G'Dell, he'll be back and fine.

Again, as long as he doesn't follow Leonard Little's path, it's all fine.

Except for Hernandez murdering people, these stars always get away with things, don't you worry GoldMiners...

JordanTaber 10-10-2013 02:38 AM

The problem is he got caught.

That is a problem.
But a lot of times, these star professional athletes get caught, and get slaps on the wrist.

A former Dallas Cowboy in the 1990's got caught kidnapping and raping a girl, and got away with it still. We'll see what happens here with the Aldenator.

Eazy Picks 10-10-2013 11:25 AM

honestly i havent seen anything malicious about anything Aldon has done...Yes, hes been very reckless and has had poor judgement, but in reading the report of what hapenned at his house party, it basically sounds like a party that got out of control, and that somebody pulled a gun on a bartender, which prompted Aldon Smith to try to end the party...so apparently him and Delanie Walker fired shots in the air in an effort to break it up, which didnt really work. And then there was some more gangster stuff going on and Aldon came and told the people starting trouble that he was aldon smith, it was his house, and it was time for people to leave, and that resulted in Aldon getting stabbed, and some other gunfight broke out and some other guy got shot...but basically it sounds like Aldon had a party that got out of control, and he tried to put an end to it but wasnt able to.

the lesson he needs to learn is one that a lot of young star players need to learn...watch the company you keep, stop acting like youre invincible, dont do things to invite trouble, like possessing firearms w/o permit, having big house parties, drinking heavily, etc.

A woman is serving a 20 year sentence for firing a handgun through the ceiling of her apartment(?) in a domestic altercation with her husband where no one was hurt.

Maybe Aldon is given the opportunity to plea bargain down to some kind of probation.
I don't know how tough the gun laws are in California.

Jvig43 10-10-2013 11:44 AM

Burress shot himself and got jail time, lol. That argument doesnt hold for every case.

gpngc 10-10-2013 11:48 AM

So when he gets out of rehab, does he get suspended? No, right? Just like Lynch's DUI case, this case will keep getting pushed back and he'll play this season. Right?

Goodell hasn't suspended Lynch because the case still hasn't been heard.

Borat 10-10-2013 11:51 AM

What a bummer.

SickwithIt1010 10-10-2013 12:03 PM

This guy is a ******* idiot.

I think the most amusing part of this whole thing is that these two dumbasses threw a giant house party where they charged for admission and drinks. The whole night probably netted less than they make combined in an hour of NFL pay. Mo' Money! Mo' Money! Mo' Money!

We'll see if CA makes an example of him the way NYC did of Burress. I'd say it's unlikely he gets a max sentence b/c the whole thing happened in his house, whereas Burress took a gun to a more public setting in a NYC nightclub.

bigbluedefense 10-10-2013 12:28 PM

Damn Aldon and Von really are having a race to see who can ruin their careers faster huh?

bigbluedefense 10-10-2013 12:29 PM

Let's be real guys. Burress got hosed so bad.
