David Carr is now a Carolina Panther

http://www.charlotte.com/209/story/76173.html

I am actually happy about this move, John Fox can make champagne from crap when it comes to Qbs I hope he can again.

Non_Sequitur 04-06-2007 05:13 AM

Carr should be starting by week 8.

niel89 04-06-2007 05:19 AM

im starting the 'put in carr!' chant now.

niel89 04-06-2007 05:19 AM

Carr! Carr! Carr! Carr! Carr! Carr! Carr! Carr!

The best way to drive is with a Carr

Plane?

Or even a train.

rickscott 04-06-2007 05:29 AM

I think everyone will come to find out that David Carrr is a much better QB than previously thought once he's got some protection. Great move by Carolina.

personnaly i cant see that happening. in a few years he will go from team to team starting for a season or 2 while a young qb learns the ropes

frisby213 04-06-2007 06:35 AM

I see it happening. I can't wait to see David rippin' it up and showing the Texans for the idiots they are.

princefielder28 04-06-2007 07:09 AM

Very nice move by the Panthers

SchizophrenicBatman 04-06-2007 07:57 AM

I cant help but be afraid that this is one of those media friendly FA moves that doesnt actually work out so well (see: the Panthers offseason last year and every move the Redskins ever make) but Carr has the talent to take over and be more successful than any previous Carolina QB. I'm just afraid if he'll progress any more than he did in Houston. The reason Fox likes picking up QBs off the scrap heap is because he doesnt like developing them...so I guess we'll see if Carr was still a work in progress, in which case don't look for him to get much better in Carolina, or if he just needed a better supporting cast.

It'll be interesting to see how Delhomme's "chuck and pray" mentality meshes with Carr's "Captain Checkdown" reputation to be sure

Oh what a great move. David Carr is a pro-bowler either this year or the next. Mark it down.

RaVeNFaNaCtIc 04-06-2007 08:03 AM

Now Carr finally has an offensive line and a great WR core. I others have said, he will be a Pro Bowler soon. Thank god they signed him, now they wont pursue Kyle Boller!

eacantdraft 04-06-2007 08:15 AM

Good move by both the Panthers and Carr.

Jay 04-06-2007 08:21 AM

I said in the other thread that the Panthers would probably be his best situation. Good for him. If the Panthers were smart, they wouldn't play him for a single snap next season unless it is absolutely necessary. Let him ease in and learn the system, don't force anything. Delhomme has been adequate the past few years and even caught lightning in a bottle when he brought them to the Super Bowl. I think he is, at best, an average NFL QB, which is better than most QB's that have played in the league can say, but David Carr still has the chance to be a great NFL QB. Granted, it may be too late, so we'll see...

But smart move on his part.

Maake is a solid tackle and is doing everything right, Shaun Williams was injured and Hartwig got injured... I don't know how anyone can be disappointed in who we signed last year... Williams maybe but everyone else was great.

With Carr they should finally beable to get the ball deep to Steve Smith, Delhomme's arm was just lacking.

Smart move... if he can't get it together in Carolina... where will he? Maybe the cooler uniform will do the trick.

The Unseen 04-06-2007 09:13 AM

Not a bad move. I don't think Carr will be good anywhere he goes, but you can't blame the Panthers for getting the best QB available.

D-Unit 04-06-2007 09:14 AM

Carr will have a better career than Schaub.

bearsfan_51 04-06-2007 09:15 AM

If he can't get it done there, I think it is safe to assume he's not going to get it done period and he will be a career backup...

ElectricEye 04-06-2007 09:31 AM

Risky move for him, but if he can win the job from Delhomme, it's probably going to be the best fit for him. We're going to find out just what Carr is made of. This is either going to the revival or the end of David Carr.

holtfan92 04-06-2007 09:37 AM

Good pickup by the panthers.

moc182 04-06-2007 09:40 AM

Very good signing, Delhome is nearing the end, and isn't very good in the first place. I still think Carr is going to be a good QB in this league.
